Ama Daetz |
I'VE COOLED A LOT ON Ama Daetz. She seems sort of distant now. On the air of course --maybe newfound motherhood has made her a different person. That's good. Personally. On the other hand when I watch her now, she seems semi-oblivious to the anchor position. There's no passion. A very cold demeanor. Almost robotic and formulaic --which wouldn't be so bad if she were to possess some raw emotion every now and then.
I'm not ripping her I'm just being frank and constructive critically. It's all a matter of taste and while I like Daetz for the most part I wish she'd become a lot less mechanical and a lot more human. It would help her cause dramatically.

Tracey Watkowski-Silva |
*At
KGO the feeling inside the newsroom is that if there's a time that
News Director,
Tracey Watkowski Silva, will finally be
86ed, the time is now. Sooner rather then later. Of course we've been saying that for years and somehow, she motors on. Why? Simply because she knows a lot of
ABC execs and has retained a cozy relationship with a few that won't axe her, yet. But the new President/GM,
Tom Cibrowki, hired last March might make his first significant move and that would be to let go of Trixie, who is universally detested inside the KGO building. Time will tell.
"Morale at KGO at an all time low!!! Watkowski-Silva about to be fired!!!" At this point, they could shoot her out of a cannon and I wouldn't care. How about you just tell us about it when it finally happens?
ReplyDeleteHaving a child changes things. I believe she's taking home about 400 k a year. Until Dan takes her aside and tells her to step up her game, what we see, is what we get.
ReplyDeleteThe news director at ABC7 keeps her job because her newscasts are number one. You imply that it is because of who she knows and imply wink wink that sexual favors are involved. This is sexist nonsense. Similarly, you attack a female anchor for being not as watchable for you as she was before having her child. This is also misogynistic bs. stop it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rich that Ama is distant and not the same. Perhaps she has postpartum depression? Any mothers out there who can address this issue?
DeleteAgreed. Daetz has lost it - from her sloppy appearance to her lack of any kind of positive energy. Kristen is also weak - in no way, shape, or form, a prime time anchor. Nobody wants to work with Sze, so perhaps this is affecting Daetz as well, but KGO is in deep trouble. Desperate for fresh, new talent.
Delete"I'm not ripping her I'm just being frank and constructive critically."
ReplyDeleteNo. If you were being Frank, you'd be trying to sleep with her.
She looks like all the she-devil bitches I had to deal with in management at The Phone Company. I'll bet staff cringes when they hear her heels clomping down the corridors at a good clip.
ReplyDeleteYou shouldn't complain too much about Ama Daetz. I saw Dion Lim on the other night and couldn't turn to another channel fast enough. That voice is still haunting me and it's not even Halloween anymore.
ReplyDeleteI believe the Daetz & Trixie angles are connected. Ama is still solid, but having a cancer at the station like Trixie can hurt the morale of even the best anchors. It would be very sad that if it's true that while Iger can't stand Trixie, the Disney board remains split about a move. Shall we expose the suspicious board members who are still way too pro-Trixie or ignorant of the intangibles behind the strong ratings, the latter of which is too common at every media station everywhere? Or shall we trust the GM to pull the trigger? Again, no matter who KGO-TV puts on the air, it will still not be as good a place to work until Trixie is 86'ed!
ReplyDeleteAma is three or four shades of unattractive, and she does tend to be low-energy on the air. Dion is just dreamy, voice or no voice.
