Right-Wing Radio Reacts to Trump-Putin And Lapdogs Prevail (Again) Sussman; Rush; Levin; Even Savage Predictable

Image result for trump putin meme WHILE MOST of the world has blasted the president for his kissey-kissey with Vlad Putin --including ultra-right wing media echo machine, there has been old reliable outlets and voices still defending, (don't they always) The Donald.

A round-up and some comments:

KSFO/Brian Sussman: at first, right after the presser, mere silence. Maybe Sussman was gathering it all in because this (Tuesday) morning he was back to defending Trump and wondered aloud how everyone could hate such a nice guy (Trump). According to sources, Sussman does have eyes and ears.

*Rush Limbaugh: Same as Suss, although more animated as Limbaugh has been Donald's #1 puss no matter what and this whole thing is a CNN plot --part of the deep state conspiracy to get Trump destroyed. Rush also was attacked by Big Foot.

*Mark Levin: Levin said something to the effect: "Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Putin..." and then proceeded to defend both Putin and Trump. There is an upside: didn't use the word, "constitution" for a good 10 minutes.

*Dennis Prager: The ultimate lapdog for Trump delivers predictable "they're trying to destroy him (Trump) Prager is a deep state guy even though he appears on CNN quite regularly and plays back shows where he appears. So a deep-state does have good elements: pays for Prager's new bathroom.

*Hugh Hewitt: Trump should hire this guy just based on Tuesday's radio show where incredibly he repeatedly said: "He'll (Trump) learn from this...'Trump, 2.0 is 'bad news for the Dems." He really did say that and I'm still kvitzing.

*Michael Savage: Of all the minions that could have taken the prez to task, Savage defended his new buddy by expressing outrage and saying it's all part of the plan to take down Trump or something like that. Quite predictable and boring for the guy who should have known better and been more creative. He sounded like the others which means a trip to the Oval Office has Savage officially off the independent chain.

    1. Or better yet...
Putin has all kinds of dirt on all the democrats and Trump is being nice so he can use that dirt in the next election.

      Tide goes both ways.

    2. You make many valid points as to why the President should be impeached. You've convinced most everyone with your insights. Maxine, what are YOU doing here?

    3. If the Republicans wouldn't convict Clinton in the Senate when they clearly had the goods on him, what makes you think they would convict one of their own when they don't?

It isn't the United States of San Francisco. Get that through your head.

  2. I sometimes listen to Michael Savage's opening, to get his take on things. He has been very critical of Trump on some issue, mostly concerning trophy hunting of big game, and also on Syria, he is not John Bolton fan. It was clear after listening just to a few sentencee of Savage yesterday, he was going to defend Trump. I turned the dial to the 2 host I most listen to in the noon hour, Michael Medved and Tom Sullivan, they did not disappoint. Neither did the new KGO Pat Thurston was sitting in for Chip Franklin, she had John Rothmann on almost the whole 4 hours, they took tons of calls and it was great radio, some callers disagreed with them, which makes for good radio. John had to leave around 6:30, because he had a speaking engagement. However, the new KGO had enough smarts to have him come back on the air from 8 to 10 p.m. this is the best I have heard KGO since they fired all the hosts back in 2011. On the right wing host I'm surprised at Hugh Hewitt, I though he was smarter than that, and he really was not a Trump supporter from the beginning, the rest I'm not surprised, they are predictable, which is why I rarely listen to any of them. Levin has been very critical of Trump's trade policies, so he can be independent, but I guess trade is more important than national security.

  3. Thanks for this rundown. I tried watching Fox News last night to see how they were spinning Hel, but couldn't make it past a few minutes.
By the way, KNBR this morning is reporting your news (with no credit) about Greg Papa not going to Vegas with da Raiders. They picked up some national radio blog saying Oakland/Vegas is going to hire Brent Musberger to replace him, starting this season. He's almost 80 years old and supposedly runs a sports book in Vegas now.

  4. A year and a half in, and it's looking like the job's grief and frustrations are starting to wear on old man Donald. By 2020, I suspect that he'll say "fuck this bullshit." And I doubt that the wife will be looking forward to a second term.

I predict that Barron's name (and the need to focus energy and personal attention on said) will start coming up more as time goes on, as a hint that a second term may not be so appealing after all. "I Like Mike" will be the Republican's new battle cry in the next Presidential Election.

  5. Dennis Prager appears on CNN quite regularly? I watch CNN quite regularly (at various hours thruout both the day and the nite). I have never ever seen an appearance by Dennis Prager on CNN so I am mildly curious about the appearances he claims to have made and the subsequent clips he airs.

  6. History will judge harshly those who support this Traitor-in-Chief...what I saw yesterday was appalling, even for Trump, and anyone who still supports this traitorous buffoon should be ashamed of themselves.

  7. I listened to Kenneth Adelman who worked for Reagan and wrote the book "48 Hours That Ended the Cold War"

he called Trump's meeting "his lowest point of his presidency, and arguably the lowest diplomatic point since the fall of the Berlin Wall."

Except he's not paid to lie.

  8. I'm not exactly sure what Russian meddling we're supposed to be outraged about.

Was it the Facebook ads that supposedly swayed the electorate? I thought that was just a few thousand dollars worth.

Was it the hacked DNC emails? I thought The Nation magazine published a forensic analysis showing the download speeds were too fast for the internet back to Russia.

Was it Podesta's Gmail account? I thought Podesta gave away his password in a phishing attack.

So what, exactly, did the Russians do? I hear a lot of haranguing in the press, but not a lot of details of specific actions backed by evidence.

    1. dear 12:47. Is it too difficult for you to read the actual indictment? Not only was the DNC hacked, but our voter databases, local election officials(people who supervise voting), and the companies who manufacture electronic voting machine software, and private information on over a half million American voters. Did you need help finding the indictment?

    2. The many flaws with the VIPS/Forensicator argument published in the Nation were addressed in a subsequent rebuttal in the same magazine. I have a lot of respect for Binney and McGovern, but their argument on that subject is more full of holes than Swiss cheese.

  10. For eight years the media handled Obama with kid gloves. Remember when the NY Times reporter Jeff Zeleny asked, "What enchanted you the most from serving in this office"? Now that's hard-hitting questioning. And what about the Iran nuclear deal and having "more flexibility" to negotiate with the Russians after the 2012 election? Did this blog or its readers complain about any of this? Crickets.

  13. 5:15 PM - your dislike of Obama has nothing to do with the current moron in the White House, stop deflecting and trying to distract from the real issue, which is Trump is a total moron who has no clue what he's doing, and his crazy performance with Putin yesterday gets very close to treason.

  14. You misstate the question Zeleny asked President Obama at the beginning of his second term. He asked which things had enchanted and which things had humbled the President. It's a perfectly legitimate question for any president at the beginning of a second term, now a seasoned officeholder. As for the Iran deal, I'm not sure what the problem there was for you. Do you know that the money returned to Iran was always their money? In exchange for the return of those frozen assets, the Iranians agreed to verifiable reductions of their nuclear program. See Ronald Reagan and "trust but verify". Donald Trump has just told the world that the US is equally at fault for Russian takeover of Crimea, incursions into Ukraine, bloodshed in Syria, and the poisoning of "enemies of the state", like reporters. This is not only untrue, but it is certainly not "America First". It is "trump first", as always, because Putin has the blackmail material. Whether it's eastern European dominatrix hooker pee encounters or international money laundering,or both, making trump tremble, treason is not in our best interest.

  15. That's why I hate right-wingers. They are the worst of the worst. If Obama did have the horrible stuff Trump has done, he's be impeached already. Putin's puppet is the low point in American history. I hope the Blue Wave in November is enough to get the House back, possibly the Senate but it's a long shot. Trump will never get impeached, even if you had video and DNA of the dead girl or live boy. They'll say the Deep State created it.

  17. This Helsinki summit left me laughing. If Trump were to announce he was getting tough on Putin, CNN would say he was dangerous, reckless and on the verge of starting a nuclear war. If he’s nice to Putin, he’s a traitor. And it’s fun to watch Trump bristle whenever it’s suggested the Russians helped him win. Of course nobody mentions that the Russians have been meddling in our elections since they were known as the Soviets. And back in those days they were helping the Dems. There are hypocrites on both sides. It’s interesting how there’s nobody in the media who is taking a balanced, unopinionated approach to these stories. As Rich illustrates, the most successful radio talk guys are on Trump’s side. On TV, all the networks except Fox News are against Trump. I don’t see anyone in the middle. Maybe there’s no market for a host or network that aims for balance and avoids bias?

    1. Randy Stephenson has a problem. Owning a news network doesn't fit into AT&T's corporate profile to begin with and then Jeff Zucker's marrying news to entertainment complicates matters even more. Jeff's contract has been extended to encompass the 2020 elections but that doesn't fix what's wrong there. There are many who think it will end up sold to CBS and the two networks were said to have been sharing news operations several years ago. Moonves is very tight lipped about the whole thing because anything he said might affect any negotiations. Could happen, might be good for all concerned.

  21. "Media handled Obama with kid gloves?"
Are you KIDDING me??? First of all, we were subjected to EIGHT GODDAMN YEARS of constant negative reporting and false rumor-spreading by foKKKs news, Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Savage...and countless KKKonservative-leaning newspapers across the country. At least CNN, CNBC, MSNBC , the LA Times, and NY Times actually reported on the Iran Deal, the Birther conspiracy...and even Hillary's "uranium scandal." Much of it was even critical.

I'm still waiting for foKKKs news, Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Savage, and KKKonservative-leaning newspapers to go after Trump with the same zeal...hell, even HALF the effort...that they all showed Mr. Obama.

    KKKriKKKets.

    1. What will you do about it if they don't?

Don't you know most of this is theater anyway? Fox did a short piece with Piers Morgan who's back home doing Good Morning Britain and he sounded surprisingly fair and even handed. Do you know what he said about Trump and the media? He asked Martha MacCallum how do you compete with the personality of a New York real estate billionaire? Of course he has an ego...and a sordid personal life and a foul mouth. How do you think he got where he is? How do you think he won in 2016?

You're not beating this guy. Forget it. Two or four or even six years from now you and others like you will still be beating your heads against a wall while he's been busy completely polluting the Federal bench.

Find a way to deal with it and move on. Go to your doctor and get a scrip if that's what it takes. You'd better do something because he isn't going anywhere. For YEARS.

    1. It'll be more than that. We all know about Ginsberg but Breyer is 79. These guys live a charmed life but anything can happen. Kagan is fairly young. Sotomayor has a sugar problem which I understand is well controlled but anything can happen.

Trump's Electoral total in 2020 will somewhere in the range of 320-340. I see absolutely nothing keeping him from carrying Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida a second time and therefore being in office through 2024. Will Pence follow him? It's hard to say.

I travel for a living and on those long transatlantic flights I do a fair amount of reading, mostly financial. The next recession is all anyone's talking about, forecasted to come ashore 2021-2022. That will likely give us another Democrat but maybe not. Maybe we'll want an establishment guy and that means Pence and that means possibly replacing Sotomayor if her health doesn't hold. Thomas is also said to mulling retirement but the grapevine's been very quiet on that.

The Democratic party must be and will be rebuilt along populist lines but that sort of thing takes forever. At the same time, I see this state and specifically this region pulling further and further away from the rest of the country. There's a weirdness setting in here..a realization of just how out of step this place and these people are. Most people have to earn their money but here? Go work for a non profit and it falls out of the sky. I'm told there's stuff coming this fall that shifts money away from those people. We'll see.

Just like Levin with the word constitution he has nothing else so that is why he just constantly repeats himself over and over and over.
