Eastbay Times reporter, Alison Berg, did a little selling for her newspaper.
Hey, I know when I'm covering mass destruction, mayhem--seventh worst fire in CA history, the first thing I do is think about selling the old newspaper.
If this wasn't so serious it would be funny. Like seriously funny, giddy, OMFG! funny.
I'll hope Berg was instructed by some insensitive middle manager nitwit who has no concept of what is right and what is clearly wrong. It not only defaces the newspaper which is crappy already, it also makes Alison Berg look like a complete moron.
Can you imagine the people who lost loved ones in this ongoing tragedy? Think what their reaction would be if they saw this bullshit? Pathetic.
Berg needs to get a reality check soon. Here's her e-mail address if you have any reaction:
The paper isn't worth 12 cents, talk about a ripoff. It's old news which has zero value.
ReplyDeleteSo that's where KCBS radio AM 740 gets their news from.
DeleteOld news repeated for 2 days on the radio.
The next step will be putting ads in their stories. After the first paragraph about looting at the fire scene they could write about a local pawn shop. Or after reporting a death, they could mention a life insurance agent. Or midway through a story on reconstruction they could plug a contractor. The ad opportunities in news stories are endless.

DeleteWhat do you expect from a newspaper that is affiliated with the San Jose Monkey News?
ReplyDeleteThey are desperate to attract new subscribers.
Like the New York Daily News, the Denver Post, the Monkey News will go up in flames.
She's a dumb college narcissistic millennial idiot.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you go to college? I think you just have college envy.
DeleteI graduated from a four year college.
DeleteI don't believe you. If you had, you'd say which one.
DeleteSF State. Go Gators!
DeleteAllison: You are a dumbass. Why don't you put in links to businesses working the fires while you're at it? I see you're complaining about the complaints. Don't you get it? Naive and disrespectful, that's what you are. Thinking about yourself. Selfish. Narrow minded. Shame on you. You should go to work for lawyers. You should become a defense attorney. You have no heart, no regard for anything. You're perfect. The journalism business is going down hill. Might as well get off the slide, go to law school, get your J.D. and chase ambulances.
ReplyDeletedear 1:06...When have you ever put your own health and life at risk to cover a fire? Promoting one's newspaper or other outlet as a good source for news in an epic event, is nothing new and is not "dumb".
