OK, so this is TOTAL BULL.

Trust me, AIN'T GONNA Happen.

First off, before I tell how much of a BS "story" this is, some full disclosures:

I DETEST Tim Kawakami. He's so full of himself he makes me look practically titanic.

Greg Papa, I respect as a broadcaster; a pretty good one at that but whose become a boor lately, most likely due to a costly divorce in progress and a battle with a severe case of vertigo.

That said, the "Touuuuuchdown Raiders" play-by-play is a lifelong Raider. He's not going to the 49ers. Period. End.of.story.

Oh, and Papa hates Kawakami about as much as I do.

We'll delve into this and give you the Mark Davis angle too. Because you wouldn't believe it but Mark Davis is not a Greg Papa guy but there's a whole lot behind that.

  1. Rich, before your torch anyone get your facts straight. Kawakami has NEVER reported that Papa is going to work for the 49ers. He never said that, ever. He speculated that after the Raiders leave in 2020 that Papa would have interest in working with the Niners and is trying to keep that lane open by kissing up to 49ers management on his radio show. That speculation actually makes sense.

  2. Does Papa have that stupid smug look on his face in every single photo of him? I wanna punch my fucking monitor every time you have a picture of him up.

    1. Is he really that happy? Most honest men don't smile that wide. Thumbs sticking out is a defensive / insecure move. Maybe he just ate Robert Shaw.

  3. Which comment posted here will be from Kawakami? Can't wait...

  6. I don't know why you hate Kawakami so much, Rich. I personally do not know him--but I have met him on the job/at sports venues...and even at a few social situations...and he seems like a pretty cool guy. I've heard that you've said he is "cocky"...but so what? Hell--anyone who works in big-market journalism and on the street (TV, print, or radio) had BETTER be cocky. If they aren't, they'll get eaten alive--by the competition, or by the athletes themselves.

  7. Also you should disclose that Ted Robinson is your friend so I guess that plays a role in your opinion of the situation

  8. Papa is so damn creepy. The innuendo he's made on his radio show, especially when he was being prodded by Lund, is boderline disturbing. He just comes off as a guy who can't wait for your daughter to turn 18. Papa is that old guy in the club that should've stopped going to clubs 10 years ago.

As for Kawakami, he's a decent writer, but on radio/TV he has less electricity than the amish. Some of the best in the business are the ones that can take a joke, be self-effacing, and cleverly return serve whereas TK's social media skin is thinner than Trump's. Anytime TK is proven fallible or held accountable for a bad take, he immediately blocks that person because his fragile ego can't take a single ounce of criticism. If your gig is to cover and critique and yet you can't handle the same judgment, you're in the wrong business. In fact, with the comment censoring and blocking on Twitter, you're not much better than TK, Rich.

  9. Like you Kawakami is thin skinned. However, his topics are well thought out and rarely writes anything without vetting and preparation.

  10. Tim Kawakami.
Running scared that his employer won't meet next week's payroll.
Hey little Timmy, try going back to the Monkey News like a dog with it's tail between its legs.
