Monday Open: Bach out at NBC Sports Bay Area

Image result for mIndi Bach NBC Bay AreaMindi Bach has been told her services are no longer wanted at NBC Sports Bay Area.

No surprise there as Comcast (which owns NBC) has been eliminating and reducing its cable personnel; this is not the last move, here, or in other markets.

I'm checking on Jess Aguirre's status and working on other developments.

  1. Note to King Larry....Mindi Bach would be a great replacement for Amy G.He's gotta get Amy G. out of there before the season starts.

    1. Doubt this will happen, but what a great idea! Mindi is
a consummate professional, while Amy is stuck in the rank amateur category.

  2. Mindy is professional and has good sports acumen. Amy G? the polar opposite. I agree, she would be a good replacement for the Giants.

  3. I'm sorry to hear that. Regardless, she has talent and will pop up somewhere sooner rather than later. I would also like to see her replace Amy G. That would be huge for both the Giants and fans. Amy just doesn't have it.

    1. Don’t bet on it. She’s pushing 50. In the soylent Green Bay Area that’s as good as dead.

  4. I'm sick of people tearing down Amy G. She is quite good at what she does. She does the lifestyle stuff, not breaking down batting averages. Lighten up.

    1. Amy G. seems like a really nice person but... she's not good at the "lifestyle stuff" either.

    2. Oh.......is that what Amy G has been doing - lifestyle
stuff? Thanks for putting a label on it because I haven't been able to figure out what the hell it was called

    3. So wishing there was a Like button for the comment above. My thoughts exactly. I haven't been able to figure out what Amy G does either.

    4. Amy G should stick to writing children's books.

    5. Amy G is best suited for a cooking show on some obscure cable channel.

  5. As funny - and true - as the Amy G bashing is, unfortunately, the North Bay Wildfire fundraising spot she did proves she's not going anywhere. If she wants to improve, she needs to follow Kerith Burke's strong example with the Dubs.
What's not funny is this: Mindi Bach, consummate pro, gone. Another NBCSBA personality not popular with this blog and its followers is Fallon Smith, whose voice sometimes actually tones down, believe it or not. Another unfortunately, Smith actually has an Emmy on her mantle. Huh? Yep, Comcast/Xfinity has the same bad habit as the Cloud Clowns and FOX - they refuse to listen to their viewers, only to their ratings and their fantasy worlds.
All the big media conglomerates' ignorance toward its customers is what makes Rich a breath of fresh air to read and follow. For those who have strong budgets - unlike Yours Truly - please show your philanthropic side to Mr. Lieberman per his requests. Thank You, All.

  6. Call it what you will with Amy, she just doesn't have a natural flow to herself. I'm not looking to bash her, I'm just saying what I and many others are thinking.

  7. THEY NEED TO GET RID OF FALLON SMITH!

    1. She's a total embarrassment.

    2. Completely agree. She's totally unwatchable. That voice and style just doesn't play here. Needs to go. This is the San Francisco Bay Area not Visalia.

    3. Wasn't there big news last year that she was leaving the Bay Area 'for love'? Must have been a breakup. Was it reported?

  8. I'll get excited when they show Feldman and Fareed the door.

  9. Get rid of Amy G and Renel. Why Renel always yelling at me. Maybe angry.

    1. Renel, that loud FM disc jockey

    2. Renel is the voice of AT&T Park. She isn't going anywhere, despite KISS-FM switching to The Breeze.

  10. WTH? I agree with the other comments about Mindi Bach. She was one of the pros at NBCSBA.

  11. I've always liked Mindi's work. Bright, competent, and she presents herself well. Hope she stays in the biz, and in this market.

  12. Mindi had a guest article on the Athletic about Stanford the other day. Maybe a tryout. All the good sports writers are going there (except for Henry )

    1. I guess you told me and many who find her out of sorts with what she does. I just don't find her as a natural fit for what she does. There are probably much better who could take her place.

  14. Amy G has the "mom in the stands" position with the broadcast. Nothing more or less. It is to appeal to the casual fan. And it must be working. Their local TV ratings are fine and the ballpark sells out most the time.
    Accept it.

  15. Here is to eliminating the voice in the stands position. I don't care about the stands or want to be interviewed as a customer either. Plus, they are usually an excuse to include women in the broadcast. News flash: there are actually women broadcasters who can actually call baseball games.

Sorry to see Mindy go. Is there anyone left there?

  16. The Giants problem is not Amy G. Their problem is belt hits like a relief pitcher and they think he’s a major league regular 1st baseman
