As Giants Go South So Do Broadcasters; Kuiper Bummed; New Larry Baer Propaganda Program Debuts on 'NBC Sports Bay Area'; Dana King/Pix Revival Kaput Mostly Due to Dana King; Tuesday Opening Menu

Related image  I DIDN'T KNOW GIANTS BROADCASTER, JON MILLER was above reproach ...excuse me.

Here's something you won't read in the Chronicle and other assorted bleacher club postings...

Image result for SF Giants KNBR post-game wrapSince the Giants have gone south there's a very noticeable change in the tone of their broadcasters voices, most notably, Duane Kuiper, who seems very depressed these days.

Kuiper is so bummed he often fails to give the score on a given telecast. It's sort of professional responsibility to give the score. And tune into a Giants broadcast on radio --just listen to the broadcasters voice and I'll bet you a turkey sandwich at Tommy's Joynt based on tone, who's winning the game. Kuiper sounds miserable. And that shouldn't be the case. Mike Krukow is still Krukow and Dave Flemming still manages to keep it together. Jon Miller, oh whatever.

*The Larry Baer /Giants Promotional gestapo machine has added a new propaganda program on "NBC Sports Bay Area", tantamount to a travel brochure someone throws in your face when you're not interested, here's a theory: Since the "Insider" has never really provided any Inside, maybe it's appropriate the new show is "Outsider" ...oh, good timing, guys, I'm certain the ratings will be off the chart.

Image result for Dana King*Had Dana King really wanted a gig back in TV ...at KPIX specifically and acted a little humble, more than likely, she would have been invited back because PIX needed/needs a bolt of lightning ...but Dana is apparently content with artist slave wages and yoga.

*First-Place award in the KGO/Cumulus Nepotism Dept: Brian Copeland.

Related image*Hey, Bret Burkhart/KGO: you still have a gig there? God, you must have pictures.

*Chip Franklin is going to try to break a world record: 20 topics in 3 minutes.Image result for chip franklin kgo

Then Chip is going to tell us, "hey, you know I was a comedian."

Yeah, Chipster did a lot of the Dayton, Akron, Canton tours and killed.

*KGO Radio new slogan: "We're closed for business after 7 PM."

*At KGO Radio they preach the new 7 "F's": Uh, "fucked", "fabricated", "foibles", "fake", "far-fetched", fookey-wookie", "fa-fa fooey."

  1. I heard Duane Kuiper this morning had to switch the station as his voice lacked any energy at all.

As I told Brian Copeland and Esther Rolle this morning at Applebee's in Petaluma, "Hey, let's Slap The Ham!!".

  2. Don't blame Dana King. Who wants to work in TV news today--even at the anchor level it sucks, as you report every day, and her hubby makes bucks so she can pursue her art. And she's very good! Best of luck to her.

    2. No carpet. Shiny varnished wood flooring.

  3. "fucked", "fabricated", "foibles", "fake", "far-fetched", fookey-wookie", "fa-fa fooey"

All provided by Master Phony . . . Ethan Bearman.

  4. Right now the only ~10 minutes of KGO worth listening to the entire week is on, when Bearman has David Lazarus on.
I'm surprised Bearman has him on, since Lazarus is everything Bearman is not and the only thing you could possibly take away from the segment is "wow, I wish I could hear Lazarus for two hours instead of this useless Bearman clown tell us what he ate and what Fox show he'll be on next." Oh, and a diet/health related book/website plug disguised as an interview.

Yesterday Copeland segwayed his daughter getting married into an hour of "should parents pay for weddings", proving once again he is the king of who-gives-a-shit topics.

Prediction: today Chip will insert himself into the newsbreak with a lame personal anecdote or opinion no one wants to hear. Where's that "nobody cares" drop?

In other news, Jon Handlery has displaced Tom Shane as perpetrator of the stupidest and most irritating local spots. I'd rather sleep on the sidewalk in front of the Gold Dust than stay at the Handlery.

  5. CNN should have it's credentials revoked by the white house and the FCC should yank their licene. Months and months of lies fabricated out of thin air and the chickens have now come home to roost. CNN= FAKE NEWS !!

    1. In the alternative, CNN and all the bigs could send sketch artists to all trump rallies, no cameras and no reporters.

  6. Are you kidding with the Miller being above reproach? He's boring as fuck sometimes, even when they were winning. And the adios pelota bullshit, I'm glad Garry and Larry mock it a bit. Nobody cares about your adios pelota, cabron.

  8. giants are falling, but hey, ''enjoy this great game''.notice every time some caller asks for them to get more power hitters, they always say ,''well he dosent do this or he doesent do that ''but then the player hits a home run against them ( cespedes for instance). but they always say a certain hitter can't do this or can't do that. but that hitter ends up beating them in some game.

  9. I wonder if Kuip is tired of the Giant grind.
Still believe while Lockstep Larry doesn't believe in Free Speech when it comes to criticizing the Giants, his Gestapo level still doesn't match that of the Orange Stain, er, today's White House. Just see all the blogs that still stick up for (the tail of) the Hairpiece-in-Chief with their beyond boring "Fake News" pouting.
But boring is anything KG-No Radio has done since 2011.
As long as Rosenheim is still at PIX, King will never return. Might want to let the NY honchos know this.

  10. Everyone who covers the local teams walks on eggshells since they are dependent on them for access. That's why the national writers get the real scoops because they don't need to suck up for access. Sign of the times.

  12. KGO is brutal, I listen one hour a day and that is all I can do. How many times are they allowed to screw up on the news segments in between hours. They always seem to cut in and out of each other.

Leave A&G alone and replace everybody else. I am pretty sure I can host radio better than all of the current hosts.

  13. If Kuiper doesn't like his job, there's a ton of folks in the minor leagues chomping at the bit for it. He's not that good. The only reason why people like him is because he's a former Giants player. That's it. He's not that good. The Giants fabricated a campaign to get him into the broadcaster's wing of the Baseball Hall of Fame because they needed publicity at a dead time of the year. The Hawk, Ken Harrelson, is better to listen to than Kuiper.

Make Kuiper drive around downtown SF when he leaves the ball park. If seeing the homeless on the streets doesn't make you depressed... That'll perk his ass up.

  14. i have decided that John Miller is a pompus doofus who is boring, constantly gets names and facts wrong, and just seems like he has been going through the motions for years.
