  1. Graphics all over the place have more mistakes than ever. That's what you get for hiring interns/FTEs at minimum wage to do this. Media outlets just don't care anymore. Period.

  2. Reminds me of when Steve McPartlin wrote "mye baethruem" on the KTVU men's room door after one of his infamous benders.

  3. Print and broadcast media are trying to take the cheap way out and as a result this is the sort of thing we're left with. You get what you pay for.

  4. There are no graphics operator working in the control room on ALL LOCAL news stations. They were all laid off many years ago. How do I know? I was one of them. All of the lower thirds and full page graphics are typed from producers and writers in Newsrooms and the directors just advance to the next one.

    1. I hope you're not a surgeon with that kind of slacker attitude.

    3. It's called taking pride in what you do. Doing things right. You seem to be a member of the same slacker class. Congratulations on being another example of the increasing laziness and lack of responsibility in America.

    4. Surgeons do make mistakes too.

Sure hope anon@2:46 doesn't think a dumb mistake with a TV graphic is as serious as a mistake when a human life is involved.

  8. The problem is that too many workers share the attitude of Anon 10:56 AM, & they're not getting fired for it.

    1. I am Anon 10:56. Someone made a mistake and should be held responsible. Beyond that, why such outrage?

TV stations are cutting costs. That's the new reality. Things are not going back to the way they used to be no matter how much you bitch and moan.

    2. Yeah, let's fire every anchor and reporter for their mispronouncing. That'll show em!

  9. Let me splain it to you Lucy. Remember the broadcasting blunder of all time on KTVU, Capt. Sum tim Wong, careless attention to details lead eventually to bigger mistakes and credibility issues. If you believe this is a rare occurrence, you would be mistaken.

  10. I'm curious how many or often on air mistakes, graphic or other, happened 20-30 years ago? We didn't or couldn't capture them like now. But my guess is there was a higher standard back then in total. Suzanne Saunders we miss thee!
