*Jan Wahl: Definitely an Oy vey. Just when you thought her movie reviews couldn't get any more schmaltzy, Jan finds a way. Yentyl on KCBS, pass the seltzer.
*Pam Cook: Certifiable Mazel Tov to the max. The KTVU morning anchor displays a rare form of civility and tranquility all the while delivering the news bright-eyed and chock full of professionalism and grace. Too bad one of her colleagues can't follow Cook's model.
*Chef Ryan Scott: It's an all-time oy vey festival with this pompous, self-righteous schmuck with all the serenity of a Daly City McDonalds. I cringe every time I hear this bozo on the air --I'd much rather listen to KGO's taped real-estate shows than this guy who is Ronnnnnn's buddy. Birds of a feather...
*Elizabeth Cook: I know, you're shocked that this KPIX anchor is mazel tov embedded but I have warmed up to Cook who seems more cool and relaxed and does a fine job reading the news. I get the fact she got the gig because dad is connected but so what, Cook seems genuine and professional --something lacking in today's TV News genre and that counts big in my book.
*Rocqui Theus: The PIX Traffic anchor couldn't be any more beautiful and gorgeous to look at but my God, listening to her reports, I'm thinking, this is the best you got, PIX? Oy vey!
*Frank Somerville: Frank has often been the subject of mass ridicule here mostly because of his Facebook views, but guess what? I like Somerville on KTVU and someone who can read like Frank and has hung around the hall like Frank has must be doing something right and therefore, Frank gets a heaving portion of mazel tov. Frank: It's not a love fest just yet but it's damn near close.
*Ross Palombo: Just when I was getting positive...along comes King Oy vey. Keep tightening up the jacket too, looks so great. Quick question: Do you still have the pictures?
*Paul Deanno: It's not easy forecasting weather and making it look cool, calm, relaxed, and oh by the way, accurate. Deanno knows his place on the menu and doesn't mess it up with some messy fondue, therefore is qualified for immense Mazel Tovs from Big Vinny.
*Roberta Gonzales: You're supposed to become more wise and agile as you age, a little comfort factor settles in. I don't know what's happened to Roberta who I used to like a lot back yesteryear when she didn't have to put on the Miss Mary Ann act. Roby: you got the gig, it's yours! Quit treating us like we're schoolchildren, we're not! And yes, I know it's all genuine and sincere; you really are that, but that ain't working anymore. You can be all enthusiastic and gleeful just don't rub it in our face otherwise you'll be in the Oy vey Hall of Fame.
*Ama Daetz: the epitome of grace and class --and can read the news with just the right amount of seriousness, when necessary, and joy, when it's merited --it was never going to be easy to replace Carolyn Johnson but KGO found a way with Daetz who has made for a smooth transition and works very well with Dan Ashley. Mazel tov, A.D.
*Gary Radnich: Treats the TV gig like he was going to the refrigerator to get some ice cream , eats it, then goes to sleep. Raddy could fake it every now and then and pretend he's giving it all he got but is too consumed with his ego and thinks he's still king of the market. Of course he got that take due to alternative facts. Oy vey!
We miss Ama up here in Sacratomatoes.
ReplyDeleteRyan Scott is a total ass. When the great Mr Gene Burns passed away, I remember Ryan made a cavalier statement about Gene, then pompously assumed the KGO Culinary Throne and felt emboldened in his dopey shtick.
DeleteThese insults aren't amusing, just mean and repetitive.
ReplyDeleteStan is an oy vey with extra oy.
ReplyDeleteNailed it...
DeleteI'm with you re: Cook. Good-humored, easy on the eyes, and doing much better these days.
ReplyDeleteAnother PIXer who is looking and sounding markedly better is Andria Borba. The woolly episodes that plagued her a while back seem to have passed. Mazel Tov!
Plus Pam Cook's a total MILF . . .
ReplyDeleteWhich Daly City McDonalds? Serramonnte or the one by the DMV?
ReplyDeleteAnother "Radnich never learns". Once again,he laughed at the idea of black athletes bothering to get a degree in college on KRON."He signed for 10 million, what does he need a degree for?". One thing I can report is- not one other person at KRON or KNBR ever agrees with him. Not one.
ReplyDeleteTHEN,on occasion Radnich tells us of a former NBA star who squandered his money."He made 150 million dollars in 13 years and has $200 in the bank and lives in his car" He of course, had no degree or skill other then basketball.
Radnich never gets it. Never.
Aaron Pero KRON's ND put out a tweet that showed the red counties that voted for Trump and the caption said double down on that (you libs). So,I Stan, pointed out that not only did Trump lose by 3 million votes to Hillary,he also lost another 7 million to the Green and Libertarian party's. So,that's 10 million people voting for somebody not Trump. "Double ,triple down on that!"..I tells him.
ReplyDeleteHe deleted the whole tweet..LOL.
Pam Cook.. those legs
ReplyDeleteSorry if this has been mentioned before however....... What is it with the "newsreaders" now having to leave the desk and walk over to a big screen and do a story while holding a tablet that they never look at? Is this news reporting or "showmanship" at its worst? Also, sometimes they have to visit the weather reporters area and make some dumb observation or ask a stupid question. Time to turn the tv off and read more informative news on the interweb.
ReplyDeleteThis is how news "consultants," which ironically are mostly former newsroom suits who failed in their careers, earn a living, telling gullible current suits that this sort of horse caca is "engaging" and "boosts ratings." Sadly, the stations lay off the real people who drive ratings--writers, producers, editors, planners--to afford these morons they meet at conventions and in bars. American stupidity at its finest.
DeleteYet one more on KRON: This morning a scroll running on the newscast said "Economy shows slow growth". THEN,it added "Don't worry things will get better".
ReplyDeleteWhaa?? Is that fakes news? Trump power endorsement? No explanation,no "we will explain"...just that weird pro government statement.
Kron news, "Don't worry Emperor Trump will make it all better". Pero is getting weird over Trump.
I don't get your fascination with Roqui Theus. Her flubs over shadow her looks. But never any mention of Robin Winston. Robin is sharp, smooth and very attractive.
ReplyDeleteWhile we miss Ama in Sacratomatoes we don't miss Roqui. She needs to pay her dues in Medford OR or Santa Maria first.
DeletePam Cook is one of the best at KTVU. I really enjoy her professionalism as a journalist. Good work Pam.
ReplyDeletebtw Rich,if you think local news channels are slow to a story? KQED has done NOTHING about the protests.Interrupted no programming to report from SFO- wherever.
ReplyDeleteA PBS channel ignoring Emperor Trump's trashing of the Constitution in order for them to show more trinket shows.
What the hell is wrong with KQED?
The ryan Scott guy is hands down the worst radio person I have ever heard in the Bay Area or maybe anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteGah. Andria Borba, she can't just write copy and inform us, she has to make every report full of hyperbole and drama as if it's the opening chapter to a Fabio covered novel. Listen to her reports, they're 90% filler and 10% information. Does look like she's losing weight though (good job!), she is very pretty and her shoulders aren't as round as they once were. I'm going to allow it for now, but she should clean up the flowery junk in her report.
ReplyDelete12:10,
DeleteIt does appear that she has lost weight, and she looks brighter and healthier. She is also dressing and applying her makeup better. Her presentation in general is much clearer. I agree that it can be a little more concise. A drastic improvement, however, from some of her bleary, slurred, and sloppy reports from a while back.
