Mr. Softie, Ronnnnnnnnnnnn Owens on KGO Radio, Acts Like a Complete Dick Head; 'Why Are You All Protesting?'; Rips Into Trump Bay Area Protesters

Image result for Ronn Owens The Voice of Reason Strikes once again, this time bordering from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Good old Ronnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Owens, aka: Mr. Softie has been lamenting protesters for, damn, get this, protesting, the inauguration of President Trump today (Friday)

Ronn is upset and told his 20 KGO listeners "what does it accomplish? --he won the election, get over it, he's not going away," said Mr. Softie apparently ignorant of certain things like, oh,  the First Amendment.

See, I have a theory about Ronnnnnn. He's always been super sensitive about getting to his manicure appointment on time and any traffic inconvenience caused by those damn protesters...

Mr. Softie actually compared the mostly peaceful demonstrators to the idiots who break windows and start riots --to Ronn, they're all the same. "Why are your protesting?," he kept repeating and repeating.

But this is nothing new. The guy has become irrelevant and predictable. His callers sound like they feel sorry for him.

  3. Why are they protesting? Not going to change a thing. Just any excuse to break things and steal things.

    5. I don't know who 8:10 is, but I did see a couple of Bernie posters there. Is that proof enough?

  4. I didn't hear the show. Did Ronn suggest it was illegal for people to protest? I doubt it. So I'm not sure what your point is about the 1st amendment. I'm sure Ronn is quite aware of it.

Again I didn't hear the show, but frankly, when I heard on the news of these protests, my thought (as someone who did not vote for Trump) was "what on earth do they expect to achieve with these protests. He's president now, that isn't going to change." So it sounds like I agree with Ronn. Perhaps it makes these people somehow feel better that they're doing "something" but it achieves nothing. Now that he's president, let's evaluate what he does or doesn't do, and act based on that. But the election is over. On KTVU's coverage of a "protest" that looked like it had maybe 15 people, one of the protesters said since he didn't get the popular vote, he is not our president. Um, reality check. He is, even if you (and I) don't like it.

    1. It's so funny you say this, because, like 9/11, there has been an attack on our country today. Unfortunately, many more will feel the fallout than back in 2001. The analogy between two of the darkest days our country has ever seen is appropriate.

People always talk about how African Americans should look out for their people and be vocal when it comes to black-on-black crime. Those people are stupid. If they believe that then who will speak to and knock some sense into our white trash and low class, obese Rust Belt and Southern brothers and sisters? Your fucking factories will never reopen.

    2. Carrier just scrapped plans (after building the factory in Mexico) to move jobs down there from Indiana and kept the jobs here. That's just 1 example of many. GM announced its plans to invest 1 billion in US manufacturing. That's a 2nd example.

Dont let the facts get in the way of your ignorant bias 1:35. Dumbass.

    3. Google is your friend, dumbass. Read something outside Breitbart and learn what really happened on these deals. You are either grossly misinformed or a paid Trump shill.

Given your profound ignorance on the matter, the "lemming" label is far more applicable to you than 9:24.

  6. Blowenstein must've really needed that pedicure today. I guess back in the 60's Mr Softie would've told peaceful protesters: "why are you protesting? The Vietnam war will never end and blacks will never be full citizens. Get over it. Nothing will ever change". What a dumb putz!!!

    1. Comparing apples and aardvarks. The Vietnam war and treatment of African Americans were ongoing issues that could be influenced by popular opinion which could help push policy changes. The presidential election is over. Done. In the past. Unless time travel becomes a thing, the election result cannot be changed. No matter how many people spend their time protesting, Donald Trump is the President.

These folks would be better off conserving that energy for later, as Mr. Trump tries to implement his plans. Then, protest those plans to government representatives. Much higher chance of those protests making a difference than protests over an election that's already been held.

    2. Wrong Greg. The protests on Saturday were not about reversing the election results. They were about opposing the agenda set forth by the unhinged orange one. The same as when tea baggers were out on the streets opposing Obama with posters depicting him as a monkey and the joker. People are making a stand and sending a signal that they will not standby and allow the blowhard in chief to step all over this country. The fool went to CIA headquarters today and whined about the press. What an embarrassment...

So I guess you answered the question "Does 2:55 have any idea of what he's saying?".

  9. Ronn is right though. Why are they protesting when it won't amount to a hill of beans? Donald Trump was elected, and now he has been sworn in as President of the United States. Aside from opposing the President's proposals, the only productive thing Democrats can do now is work towards retaking Congress in 2018 and the White House in 2020. That's it!

    1. They protest because he is thin skinned, will have a knee jerk reaction. Whatever gets him impeached.
You did read that Trump now wants parades with military machines? Tanks rolling down Mainstreet USA.
He's a man of blow you to pieces, not peace.

    2. He's not thin-skinned. He simply learned from Bush what happens when you don't defend yourself from anything, and he learned from Obama what happens when you dig in and fight back on everything.

    2. Brian Copeland is no "intelligent liberal". He goes along with whatever anti-intellectual theme du jour keeps him employed, despite his lousy ratings.

  12. People are protesting because the constitution says they can. YOU get over it.

Eric Thomas has been cropping up on weekday nightly news a lot lately and I really enjoy him especially with Ama Daetz. No knock on Dan Ashley but Thomas doesn't get recognition like he should.

  13. Ronnie just parrots right-wing news sources these days. Usually he'll bring up a talking point that is total nonsense and I'll google it to find that it's something Breitbart or Drudge is pushing that day. He loves Armstrong and Giggles. And he couldn't do his show if his producer didn't write out every question for him to ask when he has a guest. Sad...forty years ago he was pretty good.

  17. Ronn Owens is out of touch and clueless. I'm sorry to say this out loud and in public because I used to respect him. He is a Concern Troll Par Excellence.
KGO used to be a part of my day, every day, and I still miss the old days of vibrant talk. Now even Ronn has become intolerable.
