You might assume I don't like anybody on KTVU; not really, there are some good people on the air, especially noted political analyst, Joe Tuman.
With the election just days away and now what appears to be a horserace, I'd like to see more of Tuman.
Tuman breaks down the fundamentals in politics and gives an honest, no-nonsense delivery that works well. In addition, Tuman knows his stuff and has a strong cache of insiders feeding him information that is usually on spot. It's refreshing to watch and listen.
I'm hoping we see Tuman on Election night and not the usual KTVU analysts from USF --frankly, they don't say much and what little they do say is not very revealing.
Tuman breaks that mold nearly every time he's on the air. I'm still wondering why PIX let him go.
"With the election just days away and now what appears to be a horserace..."
ReplyDeleteYou mean a "one-horse race." From the time he threw his hat in the ring, Trump never stood a chance. Nor did anyone else for that matter...and this isn't necessarily a good thing.
I watched him the morning after the last debate. He is great. Well informed and offers good insights. Wish they had him on the evening news.
ReplyDeleteJoe Tuman turned up on channel two not long after Frank Mallicoat got his gig there, after being let go from PIX. Does anyone know whether the two are connected in some fashion?
ReplyDeleteDidn't Tuman run for mayor of Oakland in 2014? Maybe he left KPIX then...
ReplyDeleteIn addition to Joe Tuman, KTVU now has Brian Sobel as a political analyst for the national election. Sobel is an experienced national politics commentator. He is a published author and authority on many aspects of military history including General George Patton
ReplyDeleteIs he a Mafia Don is his other job? Every time I see that guy I think "mobster".
ReplyDeleteKpix is notorious for letting go of the right people and hiring complete idiots- what else is new?
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of new hires, how's Ms Theus doing?
ReplyDeleteTuman left PIX on his own. KTVU is just minutes away from home for Tuman, a long time Oaklander.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything worse than Gasia M. giving us a big fat grin after she mispronounces words...I wonder what Joe T. thinks of the dopey morning anchors he has to converse with?? Scary.
ReplyDeleteYeah...He's just as good as the other guy from USF
