Many of you called out this crock of crap, including me.
We were right.
A slew of counties; Napa and Alameda to name just a few announced a settlement Monday taking MP to task.
Among some illegitimate items:
"...My Pillow made representations regarding the effects or attributes of its products that were not supported by reliable scientific evidence, including that My Pillow products could reduce the effects of medical conditions such as: fibromyalgia, insomnia, migraines headaches, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ), and restless leg syndrome."
The My Pillow schlock featured some of the area's more popular radio people and those who couldn't resist telling how great they were (some people will say anything for a buck or two and get free pillows even if their nothing more than fluffy flakes--they might be having a poor night's sleep)
"Under the terms of the stipulated judgment, My Pillow agreed to pay $995,000 in civil penalties and to make an additional $100,000 in direct contributions to nonprofit organizations providing or supporting sleeping accommodations to the homeless or those who are victims of domestic violence."
Sleep tight, don't let the beg bugs bite.
ReplyDeleteSpend tight, don't let the bilk bugs bite.

DeleteRecently bought a 2 pack of memory foam pillows from Costco for $10. Works like a dream. Figure they'll 9 months to a year and before they'll flatten and harden. Toss them and get new ones. I mean, come on $10!!
ReplyDeleteCareful now with the "Memory" Pilows especially if you start beating on them, they remember!!
DeleteThis crook was dealing his pillows in Costco until Costco threw his ass out.
DeleteI did the same bought two pillows at Costco for 14 bucks or so.
I just saw them at Costco...yesterday...Actually, having a simple pillow that you can adjust to fit the curvature of your neck, post whiplash or other injury is very helpful. It is just foam bits..but you can shape it to your comfort and can wash it in the washer to keep it bug free. Do you know what hangs out in a down pillow? Wait till you get cervical headaches from whiplash or other neck injury..you'll be much more comfortable with this type of adjustable support..
DeleteConsumer Reports did a sidebar piece on My Pillow as part of a "Sleep" cover story several months ago. The pillow was found to contain nothing but "thousands of small pieces of torn-up foam." The "money back" guarantee required purchasers to pay for return shipping, plus absorb an unspecified "handling charge" for the the return.
ReplyDeleteWhat should we expect from a product Chip Franklin advertises.
ReplyDeleteHis bald butt wouldn't know a pillow from a pillbox. He sure sings a different tune now he is in the BA.
DeleteThe "old KOGO Chip" would have been in the bag for Trump long ago.....
Chip Franklin...
The Live Read Queen
...and Glen Beck, Hannity, Savage and many right-wing loons advertising it too.
DeleteWe should never trust Kate Scott again.
ReplyDeleteScott did not make the same claims as the company in their ads. Only her testimonial, no absurd claims mentioned in the lawsuit.
DeleteNever trust a creepy guy on TV who looks like Ron Jeremy hugging a pillow.
ReplyDeleteCorny ad? ya mean its filled with nibblets and cobbs? If only it was carmel corn...spell checker wants to type caramel, no damn it its carmel
ReplyDeleteA good product, nevertheless!
ReplyDeleteTuck you in, warm within--

they are stomped into the ground.
Yes, I agree. If do the google research, OTA is a scam.
ReplyDeleteFirst: My Pillow
ReplyDeleteNext: Kars 4 Kids (please!!)
If you go to Charity Navigator's website, Kars4Kids did not get a good rating. Only 58.8% of their budget is spent on programs which means that an excessive percentage goes towards overhead including marketing. The benchmark for good performing non-profits is for them to utilize 80% or more of their budget towards programs.
DeleteI have had the memory neck pillows from Costco fro like forever. pretty good.
ReplyDeleteIf Chip says it...its good enough for me.
ReplyDeleteAnd to think my wife wants one of these pillows, she needs to take her nightly Ambien a little earlier.
ReplyDeleteThat My Pillow dude is a pain in the neck.
