Image result for San Francisco Morning coffee THE MORNING YAHOOS on KGO Radio--otherwise known as the Branson, Missouri Radio Motel 6 --were once again trying mightily to disguise their ultra-right-wing bias --called the debate a "winner" for Don Trump --almost every right-wing member of the echo machine said the same. (I have no idea what they're watching, but that's just me, I think Hillary cleaned his clock at best, held serve at worst)

"Armstrong and Getty" think their daily fish-wrap cacklefest is worth a listen.

I'd rather eat a bean casserole baked by a blind cook at a Clovis IHop.

*Three hours of verbal masturbation on drive-time radio: Chip Franklin and his cast of giggle-women who sound like they just smoked about ten joints before airtime.

Chip thinks he's hip; sort of the white Brian Copeland (redundant) although Franklin resonates on the radio with about the same tranquility as a Gilroy Howard Johnsons.

*KRON will be history --my prediction--in some way or another within a year probably broadcasting 24/7 infomercials --something like that.

*Raddy dropped off $500 in cash to the Trump campaign so you now know why his second wife loves KSFO, the Cumulus-Trump SF outpost.

*I began to realize the significance and moral largess of one Joel Murray when the 415 Media amen corner alerted me to his West Portal whereabouts --he's still a mystery but the local Herb Caen auxiliary society is scheduling a mandatory status meeting next week at the Italian Joint to assess the situation, stay tuned.

  1. How far has KRON sunk? Its now everybody wear what you want and Radnich yesterday did the sports in Flip Flops! No socks,no respect anymore for his profession as he trashes everything he can about what he does for a living as if he's not part of the problem. What a ginormous idiot.
To make the look even more hideous, one pant leg was rolled up well above the ankle- the other not.
It was like watching the Beverley Hillbilly's Action News Team.
Hey take a look inside his car when he's driving and see if Jethro Radnich is stepping on the pedal in sandals.
Next? Radnich will do the news while eating a cheeseburger. Bet on it.

    1. There doesn't seen to be a whole lot to the place. Most of what we see is canned and the rest looks about one step above cable access. I still like Rebecca...wonder where she'll end up. I like Laurie Molinaro even if she's obviously spent too much time in the sun over the years. She married money so one would think she doesn't even have to work.

    2. Stan have you seen a Doctor about your obsession with Radnich? Did he refuse to take your calls or is it something more sinister?

    3. 1047-lol,I was stalking him watching KRON. KRON wishes more would.

    5. Last night as KRONS KLOWN news went on? Grant Lodes took off his pink-purple tie and then his Daddy Raddy did the sports with it wrapped around- his arm. Like some sexual thing.
Radnich also admitted "Anybody can buy me now".
KRON wonders why its getting darker and darker as it goes all Radnich, all day?

    7. 9:06 What do you think that Radnich "sincerely" calls Mason McDuffy his friends of 24 years, while he now "unliked" Kathy Heenan his former friend of 24~years?
      He seems so shallow.

  2. You refer to Radnich as the "Bentley Man" because he owns a Bentley? Like the one he drives is some sort of luxury? You can buy his exact year and model Bentley with low mileage for under $50K. What's the big deal? My Toyota Sequoia Limited is worth more. Used Bentley's cost nothing.

    1. The late model Land Cruisers hold their value even better. They'll eat tires, brakes and suspension parts like any other truck but underneath? Bulletproof.

[googles it] Nope, there's one in Salinas though.

  5. Here is my theory on what will happen to KRON. Media General/Nexstar will sell its spectrum. They will then lease space from somebody and continue to broadcast and maintain a digital presence. Channel designations don't mean anything and it could still be on cable 4 or wherever. As with any Nexstar takeover there will be pains and departures. KRON is already a bare bones operation but that does not mean it cannot reduce more. Its central operating system (master control room) is already being operated elsewhere. The newscast graphics are shipped out as well. Its reporters are already one person crews. Where can more cuts take place? Eliminating the entire news operation (unlikely), chopping paychecks of high paid anchors (very likely). Nexstar has a strong background in local news on a budget. That is what KRON does best and will just have to do it with even less money. More infomercials or anything to bring in a buck will do. Isn't that what any business owner would do?

  6. One thing I meant to post about the family values-Trump family man?
Well,I did go over how he skipped out on Stanley Roberts return to KRON last spring- Radnich would wait 5 more minutes for the commercials and end of show, what SHOULD ALSO LET IT BE KNOWN is...when the late great Nate Thurmond knew his days were down to few in numbers? He made calls to all his friends to say goodbye. Guess who got a call from Nate -and never bothered to return the call?
I don't make this stuff up. Heenan 24 years didn't matter to him enough to say he was sorry on air.
But Pamela laughs HARD at everything he says and does.

  7. What is it with all the phony giggling and laughing on KGO? Is there something in the air? It is getting to be extremely annoying. I see lets fire the whole lot.

Glad to see Rothmann back, he is the lone jewel.

  8. Seems that many of the debate assessments have been preconceived, and most are partisan. The most notable exceptions were a few conservative pundits who declared Clinton the winner of the first debate, and a few liberal pundits who thought Pence won the VEEP debate.

There hasn't been a "debate" between Clinton and Trump at any point. Just bread and circuses, which fools on both sides are all too happy to indulge.

  10. No telling what Nexstar may have planned for KRON. It's possible that KRON signal could be sold in the spectrum incentive auction, that'd likely result in KRON over-the-air TV signal going dark... Nexstar would have to pay severance packages to employees, and waive non-compete clauses. An unheard of idea... maybe Charter's Spectrum Cable service (assuming Charter Spectrum has customers in San Francisco and Sacramento markets) could launch new cable news channel for Northern California, but don't know if they'd want to buy out KRON news department operation. It's an idea.

  11. Rich, I don't know what boner you have with A&G but I like them and many others do too. I think you're jealous of their success. They have a good laugh at the current affairs, which deserve a good laugh, BTW, and is about the only thing worth listening to in the early commute, 0500 to 0700 which I know you don't do if you're even out of bed, unlikely. Unless you suggest 560 which has an inept, moronic host and a stupid second chair or sports radio which I don't do.

  12. Concur w/your comments about KGO's early morning duo, and Chip Franklin. KGO's rating would improve straight away if that bunch was replaced. Even better rating improvment if that hard right hack John Bachelor Show got the boot too. I don't think the KGO management cares what the ratings are though.

  13. A&G are as interesting as a Lyon's in Fresno (when they had them about 15 years ago).

  14. I will listen a little to Copeland. He isn't the best, but at least he still isn't reminding us every hour he is black. I think Franklin is just totally faking it to keep his job in San Francisco. I heard him a few times in San Diego where I am from. He's a big right wing asshole. A&G are awful and I would never waste 1 minute of my day listening to them.

    1. It's San Diego. It's conservative. I spent two weeks down there at flight training and loved it. We're even talking about retiring there but it's almost as expensive as this place.

This is why I say, what you guys think is right wing reactionary is simply middle of the road in most of the country. You are the outlier. If I dropped you into NE Ohio the locals would chew on you as if I handed my dog a raw steak.

  16. A&G can be annoying - but I can't believe brian sussman is still on the air with the stupid stuff they broadcast. he is still trying to impress savage so he can substitute for him on occasion. morning talk sucks in the bay area. Anonymous

  17. Morning radio sucks, A&G are okay in small doses, they can be funny and also do some good interviews, but I don't like them as much as I use to, probably because I have been listening to them too long. However, not a fan of Sussman either. John Batchlor is right wing, but at least he is a sane right winger, and has some good guests on, even if I disagree with them a lot. John Rothmann is tops, I like Brian he does a lot of different subjects, some are interesting, some are not, but that is a matter of personal opinion. When he tackles a subject I like I find him interesting.

  18. So does anyone know the duration/terms of the facilities sharing arrangement KRON has with KGO? When does it expire? Is it annual or month-to-month? I would assume that the duration terms of the lease might give some clues about how long KRON has left. Most businesses wouldn't commit to making payment for something longer then they expect to need it?

    ReplyDelete
  19. As I've said before A&G are idiots. One reads the news and the other grunts and says WOW twenty times a minute.

  20. A&G are pretty out in the open with their right-libertarian bias. I don't see how you think they're trying to hide it.

  23. The giggling girls with Franklin are as uneducated as he, and a little too opinionated and loud when they jump on a soapbox. Franklin's vulgarity/shtick about his body functions is not funny.

Love John Rothmann. Thurston tends to dominate him on her show, which looks like she is threatened. She also tends to believe only one thing ("immigration" for example) at a time while not allowing her listeners to chime in with differing opinions and facts. She is a bit too left-leaning for my taste.

It's not easy following in the steps of Gene Burns, I admit.

  24. KRON's new "no boundrys as we go under" is just getting wacky. I might have stuff EVERYDAY.
Radnich last night said that Pamela Moore- who does things like read to kids, with no real money out of pocket- like Radnich the "charity" he does is "I'm here"..well,she's a big part girl and loves to throw big parties Radnich said with paid talents like Nancy Sinatra. "What did that cost you? 50 grand? 60 grand?"..as Moore gave Radnich the "I cant believe you're ratting on me" look.
btw- the whole crew also didn't seem to understand that a North Korean zoo that hooked a chimp on cigarettes is pure animal abuse. "I'm conflicted, because it is kind of funny" said the dense Grant Lodes.
What would he think if a chimp shot heroin?..

  25. Funny how radio has changed. I was thinking today- mattress commercials dominate and no longer the decades long tradition of a good TV-Radio Dr. No more dean of them all Dean Edell..gone is Nancy Snyderman..Kim Muldahill...all gone. Their air time replaced by viral internet clips I guess...

  26. Rich, I am so bored with every puke in the media in the Bay Area having to profess their love for the Left. They are obviously intellectually bankrupt fools like you that seem desperate to demonstrate their disdain for the Right to earn brownie points with the fucking in-crowd
