Did you see Radnich last night ? His face was beet red again and he seemed tense and uncomfortable. He limited his camera time and his banter with Pam.
On the radio front, it appears that things are not going well with iHeart Media and its creditors. It's so bad that they had a conference call with all their employees a day or two ago. Here are some details.
If Radnich hasn't taken the clue to retire maybe KRON should up his salary a little bit and promote him to being a consultant. He can be on-call for whenever he's needed (which might be never).
Now if Radnich goes away from KRON will it be time for Pam Moore to go as well? Nothing wrong with Pam, I enjoy watching her, but they're kind of a salt-and-pepper set. If KRON wants to shake things up they need some new shakers, or maybe the KRON owners are just waiting for a buy-out on their spectrum space from that FCC auction thing that will drag out for a few more years.
I often wonder why, if no one watches their news, why KRON just doesn't just move one of their digital multi-cast channels to be their primary signal. But maybe they're stuck with a space lease at KGO for their news group so they keep up the charade.
Hey I love it - replace KRON with a garage door opener remote under the digital spectrum auctions...
Anyone know when the gutted ghost of KCSM is going to disappear for the same reason? Last I heard they had some leveraged deal to stay on air until the auction could be held but that was a few years back. Apparently some venture capital played into the deal AKA cash advance to stay on pending payback after the done deal sale... Any updates?
I actually have nothing but positive things to say about Gary, and I worked with him at KRON for years. His banter is funny, that is, if you can play along with him. Perhaps Brittany Shipp and Steve Aveson should get the corks out of their asses and learn to have a little bit of fun. News people aren't curing cancer-- Have some fun with his segments that don't take everything so seriously... LIGHTEN UP FOLKS!!! Now, what happened with Catherine was surely unintentional. She knows him well enough to know he was playing... only she took it too seriously. When he throws zingers, he is poking you with a stick, saying play along. This set where he's off to the side instead of right next to the anchor may make for an awkward communication, but knowing how he adores Ms Heenan, there is no way he meant to take it the distance, and how would he know it would become viral social media fodder? Social media is a new beast and Raddy is an old dog. Is it so wrong to let him play off leash?
To Anonymous at 9:44 AM From where I sit, the only one with a cork up their ass is Catherine Heenan. The other two seem like real people but "Ms. Heenan" seems stiff, dry and stale.
Sure.It was hilarious when he said he wanted a rifle to shoot Grant Lodes. Or that all those boys lied about Michael Jackson. Or what does Jerry West have to be depressed about? Why does Kareem Jabbar have to talk about his cancer- why can't he keep it to himself? Last of my short list..We saw how easy it was for a big man like Gary to tell the audience he was sorry for upsetting Catherine, his friend of 23 years. That's a cold day in hell from him.
Had to get away from Radnich.
