Warriors' TV PBP Guy Refers To San Antonio Fans as 'Jerkoffs' (Video)

Warriors TV PBP broadcaster, Bob Fitzgerald caught the wrath of San Antonio sports fans Sunday night during halftime of Warriors/Spurs, after referring to some yodels waving  thunder sticks in front of his TV camera  as "jerkoffs." (Ouch)

Well, they probably are. On the other hand, Sunday's game (in which the Warriors beat the Spurs and won their 72nd game) was also broadcast nationwide on NBA TV. Undoubtedly, the term, jerkoffs did not probably go over well in Peoria, just a hunch.

  1. It takes a jerk off to know a jerk off and Bob Fitzgerald knows them all

    1. I personally commend Bob Fitzgerald for what he said. In addition, to me, they're all a bunch of Tards.

Spot on. These idiots were in his face and Fitz got caught up in the moment. He's since owned up and apologized for his ill-advised words. Move along. Nothing else to see here.

    3. Thank God he doesn't have Tourette syndrome...ASS!! ASS!!

  2. Talk about jerk off. Fitzgerald is probably at the top of anyone's jerk list. He's a slimy pompous prick. If only we could rid him from our airwaves.

    1. Agreed. A true pro does not do this on air. Fitz stole Papa's job. It's about time someone took it from him.
The only reason there was not more negative reaction when Fitz was hired was because Papa is as big a jerk as he is.
      backdoored Papa is because Papa

    2. After about five minutes into each TV broadcast, I tweet CSN Bay Area and plead with them to get this guy off the air. The awkward silences by Barnett when Fitz says something he thought was funny are embarrassing. Post-game, you could tell the players enjoy talking to Papa - I wish they'd get their act together and rehire Papa and dump Fitz.

    3. When you listen to the Papa and Lund radio show, you will soon realize what a true jerk Papa is, too.

    4. Greg Papa and John Lund = Papa John. Does Peyton have a business interest in their radio show ?

    5. No one kisses ass better than this guy and since the team is winning and ratings are up they probably see no reason to replace him. KNBR has him on the air because of the relationship but make no mistake he is god awful on the radio. He's so not entertaining. I'm not sure how many other cities do this type of thing of putting the game announcer on a radio show but it seems like a small market move. It's what they do in Sacramento. It's not what it is done in LA and NY. Lee Hammer is a moron though so he doesn't care. As long as they bill he doesn't care what the station sounds like. It's why I listen to 95.7 exclusively outside of Tom when Ray isn't there.

  3. Who gives a fuck what the retards in Peoria (or New York) think?

  4. "Jerkoffs" is just not Politically Correct. He should have used the term "self-pleasuring digital oscillators."

  5. No team has a worse announcer than this guy. And his radio show is truly terrible. Its a joke he has a show.

    1. Sacramento Kings and Oakland A's announcers are worse.

    2. Actually that's not true because Grant Napier is better than anyone on knbr both calling games and doing a show

    3. @1:15...and how bout those homer boys doing the Giants games? As bad as the mid west pbp guys.

  6. By the way, San Antonio must be the worst place to play or watch a game - you can hear the PA guy at max volume go over the top on everything he says. And they play music during play - it makes Oracle look subdued. That's the one quarrel I have with the NBA these days - the constant need to entertain besides the ballgame.

    1. Totally agree. It's like these secondary sports like Arena Football or Roller Hockey. Don't like all the constant noise and hype. Just want to watch the game.

  7. Is Bob the twin brother to Bill Klein of the Little Couple ? They sure look and act identically alike.

    1. No ... he's the twin brother of the Bob's Big Boy figure. Somebody at KNBR should tell him to buy some shirts that fit and hide his man boobs.

  9. Jerk-off? That pretty much describes Bob Fitzgerald's methods of career advancement.

  11. Bunch of butt hurt pussies here, did Fitz take your girl, job? Shut the fuck up him about stealing Papa's job, he didn't. Papa wanted too much money in a new contract and the bastards were too cheap to pay him so they found someone who would work for less. Turn it off if you don't like it!

    1. Okay, Fitz, if you say so. Papa's 10 time better than this suck-ass pompous prick.

    2. Nah, they're both good, 11:04.

    3. Wanted too much money? Cohan and Rowell were notorious penny pinchers. I don't think so.

  12. Fuck this no talent, ass-kissing, condescending, pompous piece of shit. Everyone knows he's got a rep in the business and it's not good. You're a loser Rudy, just like most of the spewing dicks on that radio station of yours. The best part of the Warriors NBA championship postseason run last year was not having to see your goofy face or hear your whiny voice on television. This is one time where network intervention was a good thing. You'll get what you deserve soon enough.

  13. Time for this entitled, smarmy, cheerleading, arrogant Serra boy to go. I also plead with CSN during each telecast to drop this asshat from their broadcast team.

+1 on the arena noise in San Antonio. Each Spurs offensive possession reminds me of a kid with ADHD fumbling around with the shuffle button on my iPod Classic.

  14. CSN would do better having Tim Roye do the game simultaneously with KNBR.

  15. There are all these good people and good feelings surrounding the Warriors nowadays and then there is Fitz. As savvy as this ownership group is, I'm surprised they keep him around.

    ReplyDelete
  16. All of the KNBR personalities always rave what a great team Tim Roye and Tom Tolbert are. But, I think that Tim Roye is much better doing solo and that Mr. T does not add much to the broadcast. His comments are all FLUFF.

    1. Roye is good, but Bill King was better and he did it solo with radio/tv simulcasts. Tolbert laughs a little too much. He's the best KNBR has and that's not saying much.

      Delete
    2. ESPN thought enough of Tolbert that he was one of their main color men. He quit because of the travel and that's why he only does home games. I think he's fine at TV color, but his real value is he played with former coach, Mark Jackson, played and is good friends with current coach, Kerr, and broadcast with Luke Walton's dad, Bill. He also gets a little more out of Warriors' players because he played. He also used to get more out of Harbaugh vs. the morning show guys, because Harbaugh was kind of a snob and appreciated former pro players more than normal media. I'd rate Warriors announcers in this order: King, Greenwald, Roye, Steve Albert, Fitzgerald.

  17. Fitz and Brooks are the village idiots of KNBR.

That pretty much sums it up.

  18. fitz and brooks show has commercials then commercials then talk then commercials then talk...all within 6 minutes!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. well some of us ''jercoffs'' (not walcOFFS?)(!) listen to knbr because we have nothing to do but ''jercoff''. KNBR, THEE jercoff leader!

  20. I am always glad when warriors are on TNT OR ESPN, just so I can enjoy the game without ha ing to listen to Fitzgerald.... Is is so pompous and thinks he is part of the team

    Rodney King

  22. A couple years ago JB would call him on his shit. He finally gave up. He is a pompous ass. He was a royal dick to a bunch of season ticket holders and he also pissed off a couple high level corporate sponsors in the last couple years. Just another Bay Area asshole who long needed a beatdown.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hmmm - I wonder what Bill King would have done about those idiots?
