The individual spoke on condition of anonymity.

"Our listeners will become Ronn's listeners and will make his life miserable. It will force him to resign."

  1. It's just a smarter audience overall. Less liberal lemmings.

    1. Smarter audience on the neo-con side?...lmao.The same clowns who support the likes of Trump or Cruz. Pathetic, racist, bigoted, misogynist un-American a-holes. I hope you jerks NEVER get back in power; you don't deserve it. BTW, HRC wins in a landslide. BWAHAHA!!

    2. The Feds are prepping Hillary's prison accommodations. They're plush! It's so plush that the electric chair has a paper band that says "sanitized for your protection".

    3. At 9:19am...did you buy your "Make America Great Again" truck stop hat?

    4. Yet both the daily show and colbert report audiences were proven smarter than people who watch Fox News.

Then again, y'all don't believe in science.

    5. How come most college professors are liberal? Haven't met too many bright Cons in my life. White trash morons. Just look at the Fox News lineups or the thugs at the Trump rallies? Hopefully, in 15-20 years they'll all die off or accidentally shoot each other. The world will be a much better place.

    6. I loveeee how the supposedly smart liberals that comment here always fall for the troll. Not so smart are they? Hilarious.

    7. It's called tenure 12:31. Working the system like most libdiots while complaining that they don't have enough.

  2. He'll get the same nasty conservative loons that liberal Alan Colmes gets on his show(on 910,7-10p). Alan can take it and makes these guys look like fools but Ronnnn will lose it and will quit in no time. The time slot change doesn't help either. The dude has health issues too. Cumulus is sooooo cruel...lmao.

    1. Alan Colmes still has a presence somewhere? And people listen? Some people really do have no lives.

    2. He could be like Gil and have no callers and a lot of very interesting interviews. It's one of the most informative shows I've heard. Or perhaps there will be callers who severely disagree with each other and there will be fireworks raising the ratings. However, I think that Cumulus is just being very disrespectful to Ronn. Alan Colmes takes the bozos on every week night on 910 and he does a great job. I just wish they had him on earlier or they had a better signal. With more daylight, more of us can tune it.

  3. Most be by Michael Savage, he can't stand Ronn, but then he likes very few people. Am I a huge fan of Ronn, no not really although I think he still does a decent show, especially considering the slim pickings of hosts these days. However, he still has some class and decency, despite his ego, Savage not so much. Savage likes very few people, and find it much easier to be nasty to people than to be nice. Seems like the only person he likes is Trump, I'm not surprised neither has any class, although should I choose I would say Trump, he has at least had to make connections and get along with business people, Savage is just a one man operation.

    1. I've worked for Michael. I've worked for Ronn. When I was working for Michael Ronn approached me and said, "David, he's the most despicable person I've ever had to work with."

I'll admit that Michael can be a real POS, but if he has a problem with you he'll at least say it to your face. Unlike Ronn.

I more respect a man, who despite being a douchebag, at least has some guts.

  5. No, Mr. "Everything will be great" will become your Conservative of Reason, and turn on a dime because that's what he does. Ronn will do what is best for Ronn.

  6. True story:

Ronn signed a new contract when I was producing his show one day. Board operator Chris was called into the production studio where Ronn was working out of because they had yet to build a platform for his chair in the new kgo studios.

Chris left Ronn's mic in cue because that's how they had to communicate based on the setup.

And I quote "Not sure if you heard but I signed a new contract...it's not what I wanted...it's not close to what I wanted...it's about one third of what I was getting but I'll make do...so don't you worry about us. We'll be here and we'll be fine...Fuck everyone else...it's you and me, Chris..."

Chris came back in to control room, knew he left mic in cue, and realized I may have heard that. I didn't say anything.

Chris started some small talk, I engaged. He's a great guy, and I'm sure it was awkward.

    "I'll make do...we'll be fine...Fuck everyone else..."

That's the Ronn Owens I know.

    Gutless.

    1. That sounds familiar. I'm was at a different station, about the time all the tightening started 10-15 years ago, and a longtime deejay there was renewing contracts willingly for less and less in order to stay and collect his retirement.

  7. ROOOOOOOOOOOOOON'S Last Few Callers on KGO Sounded like Holdovers from the Ray Tal "Show" It is also Interesting too note Mark Levin took no calls from KSFO Thursday.

  8. I sure hope so.
When you are weak those are the consequences.

  9. I figured Ronnnnn would run out his contract, and that would be it. He must know where some bodies are buried.
But if an aging Berkeley hippie like Wiener could adopt a right-wing persona, why not "Tea Party" Ronnnnnnnn?

Who was the guy who rallied the listeners to protest "Smog Check II"?

    1. Ronn doesn't hate Michael because of what Michael says.

Ronn hates Michael because on his best day he barely makes it up to Michael's worst.

Believe me, I can't stand Michael. If I saw him I'd sooner kick in his fake wooden teeth than I would shake his hand. But make no mistake, he's 10x the talent Ronn Owens ever was, or could be.

Michael works hard on his own. Owens expects people to work hard for him. Michael treats every show like it might be his last. Ronn treats every show like he has nothing to worry about.

Ronn is lucky to have been on the air the last 5 years. Ratings have been atrocious.

  10. Last night Chip had posted a link to an article about the layoffs with a snarky comment about reporters checking facts. He deleted the post soon after. Curious.

  11. It will be fascinating to see how Ronn handles his new seat ... I can't imagine he'll get that many callers so much more conservative than before, and he really is hard to figure out how he'll answer questions on most topics (Israel is a notable exception). He tends to dismiss the far left and far right wackos in fairly short order and I see no reason why that won't continue.

  12. Ronn we do just fine, he has a core of listeners that will tune in.

  13. I don't care if Mr. Lowenstein is suffering from a disease. That doesn't give him the right to be a selfish uncaring son of a bitch. What an asshole. If anything, he should be more considerate. To laugh as people were being escorted out of KGO yesterday is an act of pure selfishness. Fuck him. Hope he goes down in flames. He may have won the battle, but he'll lose the war. Hopefully, he'll lose it in dramatic unforgettable fashion.

  14. Here's a prediction ... After the dust settles, Ronn Owens stays at KGO, in a shorter time segment. Say 10 to Noon?
    Thoughts?

  15. I see we were not fortunate enough to get rid of Chip.
Please tell me...I certainly hope Mel Baker was walked out the door.

I always liked Kim Foster. I have noticed two times, within the last month, that she has been on KCBS on the weekends, doing traffic. She was going by a different name, but one time she goofed and said "Foster"... had recognized that voice anyway. Wonder if she is making the transition?

    1. At this point in his life he is harmless, has no bite left.
Even then, a moderate debating a conservative isn't very fair to the conservative. Usually it ends up with the conservative resorting to insults and name calling (no facts of course) as conservatives tend to argue based on emotion.
