415 Media Spy: Former PIX Morning Player Mallicoat Possibly Headed to KTVU

NOTHING IS OFFICIAL but our spies indicate that former KPIX Morning player, Frank Mallicoat is probably headed across the bay to KTVU.

We don't know whether its in the AM, Midday, or PM but we do know he and Fox2 are still negotiating.

Mallicoat was recently given the boot from KPIX --and in spite of being a popular presence on Battery, that didn't translate well in the ratings department.

Mallicoat has family here and has indicated to friends his desire to remain in the Bay Area and still work in TV News.

This is a case where both parties can help each other.

We'll monitor the situation and update when more info is available.

  5. This could align with covering the weekend anchor desk; with Ken and Heather over at KTVU+ during the week, I'm curious who'd cover the weekends. I'm ready to give Mallicoat another shot; before KGO went millennial I preferred Eric and Kristin. Seeing him over at the 2 he could thrive.

  10. I'm glad that Frank has found a Media Outlet within the SF Bay Area to employ him, so that he can remain near home. Btw... the KPIX replacement for Frank is a straight up Reader of the News in the Morning, and has such a Bland personality.
