Len Tillem is ThisClose to Coming Back to KGO Radio; 'Da Loyah' Round Two

'Da Loyah' aka: Len Tillem
We heard it through the grapevine that DA LOYAH, Len Tillem is thisclose to getting back an hour or so talkie at KGO Radio, which wouldn't be such a bad thing, I love Tillem, what about you?

Tillem cracks me up; I like the NuuYawk accent and the stories from people telling Lennie they was thrown out of their apartment by a corrupt landlord.
Tillem makes me LOL for whatever its worth; his shtick is straight out of appointment radio. It's pretty  decent stuff but what makes it work is the host's street cred and personality. Tillem delivers on all counts.

We hope the radio grapevine delivers DA LOYAH.

Great...Lowenstein Jr back on the air. I can't wait.

  2. I'm happier when he's not telling callers how to scam the system by hiding mom's assets with trusts and other methods so she can live off the largess of the government (you and me).

    1. Better us than the Chinese, Mexicans and Middle Easterners that have been working the system for decades.

    2. Len does not tell callers how to scam the system, he tells them factually what the law allows. Hiding Mom's (or Dad's) assets is not as easy as it sounds. It is not like someone gets Alzheimer and then the family can do a special trust and the money in the trust cannot be accessed to pay for care. The assets have to be transferred 3 years before an illness that would require care is diagnosed (might even be 5 now) which means Mom or Dad have to give up control of most of their estate while perfectly healthy, and then trust their heirs to not touch the money, quite sticky situation. Most people that do this is not overly wealthy, more like a little above middle class.

    3. If you follow the law as written, how is that scamming the system??

  3. I like Len especially when he tells the callers that they have no case or "yeah, you're right but no lawyer is going to take the case." Reality

  4. Cumulus might want to have a few lawyers around, especially ones who specialize in bankrutpcy.

  5. Bill Handel does a Saturday AM show, “Handel on the Law” on KFI in Los Angeles, whose motto is “marginal legal advice”. It’s a funny and instructive call-in show, much in the same vein as Len Tillem’s. Great to hear Len is going to be back on the air-too bad it’s on that piece of crap 810.

  6. Bring back Len, maybe an hour or 2 after Ronnnn; give Pat a regular weekday gig (7p to 10P, dump Dreck); bring back Rothmann @ 10p to 1am (dump John Batchelor); get Ray back @ 1a to 5a, and that would be a good start.

    1. I'd take Batchelor over that biased guy any day of the week.

    2. Your programming sounds pretty good, perhaps keep Chip on for 1 or 2 hours after Len. Definitely dump Drex, I would prefer John Rothmann from 7 to 10 p.m. well perhaps not, since I often work to 8 or 10 p.m. and then have over 1 hour commute, so for selfish reason John from 10 p.m to 1 p.m. would be good, but I believe 7 to 10 p.m. is the better slot. John Batchlor from 1 to 4 or so would be fine, so would Ray although I rarely listened to him, and when I did I found him one sided although entertaining, but loved it when he talked jazz and music (I'm a huge jazz fan Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon, Charlie Parker etc.)

  8. I hope your report about Len is right. I stopped listening to the radio after Len was fired for the second time.

  9. If Len comes back, I'll have to eat my words and listen to KGO again. Put him on for two hours. Ratings will go through the ceiling.

  11. I never cared much for Len. He makes fun of the callers too much for me. I wish there was a psychologist-advisor show brought on, like Joy Brown or Dr. Laura.
