Alan Wang is a ten-year plus news reporter/anchor for KGO-TV (ABC7); Wang and his wife suffer from Hepatitis B
In fact, Wang's medical condition is being featured in a documentary --"BE ABOUT IT"--soon to open next week.
Wang recently was doing some reporting in the field --"spot news work" --then instinctively tweeted it out, only to get word 20 minutes later from KGO and management to get rid of the tweet. Wang obliged.
Back story: Wang was called into the office not so long ago and was told ABC was docking his pay almost a year (he was given severance) and his health coverage was essentially gonno. No explanation. Ain't Disney a lovely company?
Of course in the middle of all this is the lovely and sensitive, KGO ND, Tracey Watkowski, who was responsible for chopping Wang's pay in half. Why? We can only assume it has to do with the film and Wang's participation in the spot work.
Wang is considering all options including the legal arena.
