KGO Radio 86's Weekend News Updates (In Addition to Morning News)

All weekend news updates have been eliminated. And Sunday saw the end of the morning news from 5-9 AM.

Now we're hearing (again) that news block 3-7 PM will be a goner but that the Weekday Morning News is safe, for now.

  1. When I hear the hideous morning news people on KGO, I think of Karel with a really bad case of flatuence.

  4. This can not be true! Ronnnnnnn Blowensteinnnnnnnnn declared that we the audience would LOVE the all news format because "something needed to be done" and when "polled" we the audience said we wanted "MORE NEWS!!!!". I refuse to believe that a self serving ego maniac would lie to us at any point....ever! Blowensteinnnnnnnnn will you take calls on this issue or will you instead talk about cell phones?

  6. The station that touts itself as "News, Talk and Traffic" now has none of these. Very sad indeed.

  8. Pull the feeding tube and just let it die. Some of those financial shows are growing on me.

KGO's news gathering abilities suck anyway. SF talk is just about the worst in the western US.

  9. Let's hope KGO's afternoon news is also eliminated.
No substance. Only silly laughter. A relic from a another era.

  11. Cumulus is "pulling the wings off of KGO" bit by bit. Sad what the Cloud company has done to what was once one of this country's great legacy stations. But this isn't the first station they've ruined and it won't be the last one. Thanks President Clinton for signing the Communications Act of 1995 which deregulated media and allowed companies such as Cumullus to help ruin the radio industry. Deregulation really worked well for the radio biz didn't it?

  13. How much longer before the remaining weekend tonsils Brian Pat and John Hamilton go?
Seems like it's time to jump into the lifeboat.
Their website sucks too. Hourly archives gone.
