Bay Area Media To Have Comprehensive Coverage of Warriors Friday Parade In Oakland

Bay Area media--TV/Radio/Net plan special "comprehensive coverage" of the Warriors victory parade in Downtown Oakland/Lake Merritt this Friday. The parade and rally begins at 10 AM.

KGO-TV, KTVU, KPIX, KRON and KNTV, (NBC Bay Area) will be broadcasting live from the parade with anchors and reporters en mass.

Radio too as KCBS, KGO and KQED will be live along with both KNBR and 95.7 FM "The Game."

We'll provide you more info as the events on Friday near.

UPDATE--Just got an e-mail from Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area --the Warriors cable partner will broadcast six hours of continuous parade and rally coverage live and direct from the Henry Kaiser Convention Center.

  1. Geez....does EVERY station have to cover the parade? Why don't we all just use a "pool" photog/photog team??

    1. The are pooling and sharing cameras. Plus, CSN Bay Area is providing everyone with a feed of the ceremonies.

    2. It's all pool - every station contributes so every station airs.

    3. No major news station (or sports station, for that matter) can afford to be the one station that doesn't cover it.

  2. The Warriors REALLY got lucky this year. Don't get me wrong--they went out and won the damn thing.

But playing Cleveland w/o Love and Kyrie REALLY, REALLY helped. As it was, Cleveland fielded a team of one star...and a bunch of stiffs. Hell--they had a WHITE Euro...and an Aussie!

Next year, I hope Cleveland plays the Warriors--minus Klay Thompson and Iguodala.

    1. You don't win 83 games with luck.

    2. White Euro? Does it matter? You sound like Stan...

    3. Makes up for the Warriors having Bogut and Lee injured last year during the playoffs.

Funny the same Cavs team managed to beat the Bulls and sweep the Hawks. How'd that happen? Oh, yeah, that's right. The Bulls were hobbled and the Hawks lost two of their starters. Talk about luck. Face it, you whiners were gifted with more than your share of talented players, including Mozgov (one of the best centers in the league) and Thompson (a beast both offensively and UNLIKE Kyrie, defensively). Furthermore, you had a lot of seasoned vets and your Aussie hero was touted as the Second Coming. Yet, you still couldn't get it done.

  3. Comprehensive coverage? In that case, I wonder if Karel, the Media Diva will cover the parade as a bandwagon-jumper on his little shitcan watched-by-3-people video blog/website filmed with a Fisher-Price HandyCam. For as Karel once said, "I'm unemployed, Bitch!! Gimme everything NOW!!"

  4. Some would say Thompson was absent for most of the finals the way he played for most of the games. And Love is a very overrated player who didn't add much to the team when he was healthy and they actually improved defensively when he got hurt.
