Source: KRON 'Fucking Bullshit' Crawl Was Internal Job By Disgruntled Employee; Staff Meetings Probe Incident

KRON had multiple staff meetings today (Monday) over last week's sabotage screen image (removed) of the words: "Fucking Bullshit" on the station's morning news crawl for over six minutes.

According to my KRON spy, management  determined that this was not an outside hack but an internal job by a disgruntled employee. (Well no shit, Sherlock)

Says the spy: "Morale could not be worse."

No word yet on who did it but it was someone that morning. Ashley Medina, the GM is said to be really pissed about this but ND, Aaron Pero is surprisingly calm.

  1. I noticed KRON made you remove the shot of the 415 degree's screen shot you had posted.
I never did see the BS shot. Just a jpg.img.

    1. Put the screen image up. It was broadcast and in the public domain.

  2. The director of the morning news program will take the fall as well the graphics person who put it up, the director in the control room couldn't have missed it.He's probably still laughing because he already had another job lined up at another station.

    1. KRON should forward the info to the new station to let everyone know what to expect when the guy gets disgruntled again. Thanks to Google search, the days of relocating away from a bad reputation are long gone.

    2. There is no graphic person anymore and hasn't been for years. The Directors are doing about 5 jobs, including graphics, and have very little opportunity to actually see what they're putting on air. Same with master control - they are timing shows, dubbing commercials, tuning in live shots, etc. The ticker gets updated by news staff. It's no surprise it was not noticed by people working on the show for 6 minutes. They are a skeleton crew limping along best they can.

    3. Putting info. about an alleged disgruntled employee on Google will not keep anyone from getting hired. From what we all know about KRON these days, that comment on the crawl was born of someone's sheer frustration with a horribly run station. Not saying it was a smart thing to do, but people have their breaking point. People have done all kinds of things there that you might think "Oh, they'll never work in this business again!," then they turn up at a station across town or doing PR for some big company, etc. Even Pero will probably wind up with another job once KRON decides they want him out.

  3. No local TV stations have studio graphics workers anymore. It is all automated. The crawl information is and always been typed up by someone inside the newsroom. My guess is that it was one of the writers or producers.

  6. Probably someone who wanted to get back, (and with good reason), at that sick little
weasel Aaron Pero. How does that guy manage to keep his job Rich? He must have compromising photos of the big wigs who hold the purse strings over at KRON.

  10. An FCC complaint works, of course, but it is slow. For faster results, email the screenshot to:

  11. Easy for the Director not to notice the crawl content. Probably goes in via a DSK device, not from the control room, and only visable on the OTA display. With all the things a Director has to keep up with due to automation the OTA is the last thing to look at!
