KGO Radio has quite a bit of them in the newsroom --they are especially prevalent with some of the female air talent. Watch your back. Especially that weekend anchor woman and the sports guy in the afternoon.
The snitches have been working hard --they work hand-in-hand with Bloomquist, KGO's Boy Wonder.
Boy Wonder, he of the temporary sort currently running the show--Bakos has no real power; she's only telling staff she does in hopes of getting the full-time PD gig, ha! But wait, Cumulus has a knack for crappy personnel.
*Bloomquist and Ronnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn have been lunching more--their favorite is the North Beach Restaurant. The mattress man and his gadgets --his top priority is placating Bloomquist --for one last-year rodeo. Bloomey has his hands full; controlling the snitches, implementing the half-baked schedule, (whatever that is), and trying like hell to find common ground on the possibility of replacing the PM news anchors.
*Developing...
Hey, don't knock that title. Sometimes, it's the Snitches that get the B**ches!
ReplyDeleteEver hear of Damsel in Distress Syndrome?
Didn't think it possible, but the "second" episode of the Karel show on Free Speech TV was even worse than the first. This time, it's creepy Karel all poofed up in a chef suit and hat! He was doing (literally) a turkey. It made me throw up in my mouth a little. Then, it was turkey dinner, complete with a blonde transvestite who was admittedly as fat as Karel. Then a woman who was a vegan who ate non of Karel's home cookin'. Then it was "song time" as Karel offered stories on famous Christmas carols. He is so phony, fake and creepy. One more new episode and that, hopefullly will be it. He is begging for donations.
ReplyDeleteThis time, even his doggies made the credits! What a sick piece of poop. No wonder he is on the hit list of getting let loose again at KGO. Do better editting, asshole, and do more than the same back and forth camera shots. They suck. You are a faker and the world knows it. The queer show after you was better and filled with much more content. Karel in a fat heat chef hat. Asswipe.
But you watched it. Even the credits.
DeleteA huge waste of time. Its a brain fart as Karel long ago proved to be.
DeleteThe commenter was corrector. It's crap see TV.
You did not "throw up in your mouth a little. Stop it. "
Delete12:06 PM, You slam The Kristmas Karel Show, yet, you apparently watched it all the way through. Everybody loves a Train Wreck here and there (remember Anna Nicole Smith?) , is that the attraction? Sometimes a rose is a rose, or ratings are ratings for whatever reasons.
ReplyDeleteKarel is is two tacos short of a combo plate. I watched, again, to watch the ego trainwreck which constantly runs on his tracks. He couldn't last, twice, at KFI. He didn't last at KGO and should never have been rehired. He is irrelevent and has been for a decade. His TV misadventure is so poor and far from a rational "Segment of Life." No one gives a shit, Karel. Good luck on getting those next 12 episodes. And 12;25, You dound envious that you missed the trainwreck. See? I saved you time for your life. not wasted like I did. Putz Karel is a fathead whackjob.
ReplyDeleteOh no, don't criticize him. He will say you are a hater & untelligent. He is a moron, has no education, is a pompous ass. We are all tired of his Andrew game plan. The poor gorgeous Andrew would have left him if he had not died. If Karel is so into the entertainment biz, why doesn't he clean, whiten straighten his teeth, lose weight and try to look decent? That's what all good entertainers do. And we are so tired of his impatience with people who exhibit intelligent thought. Now he is saying he is on TV? Come on, he's on the internet only. They should have fired him years ago. Each day he gets worse but he has no intention of getting out of the "biz" because as he will tell you after running after any real name actor/singer and leaching off of any real entertainer, he lives a "rock star life." Gag me!
Delete"What a sick piece of poop" " asshole" "asswipe" "Putz Karel is a fathead whackjob." Are 12:06PM and 12:59PM the same person? What's the matter with you? Using descriptive words is one thing, but calling someone all of these names makes you look like an ugly person. Some people don't know how to comment or debate on social media in a civil manner. Can't you think of a way to criticize someone without so much vitriol?
ReplyDeleteHere is my opinion of Karel: On the positive side, the man is intelligent. He really is. He keeps up with the news and is very knowledgeable about current affairs, technology, and many other things. Karel is confident and experienced. He's been doing radio for a long time. You may not agree with his opinions and views, but that is a separate issue. Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean that they can't do radio.
Now for the negative side: Most of us, it seems, agree that Karel is just not a very good talk show host. Maybe he once was; I have heard that back when he and Andrew were on KFI, they were a pretty big deal. Well, that was a long time ago, and being part of a pair has a different dynamic than doing it solo. I haven't seen his new TV show and I don't think I want to. Karel just rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Yes, I know that he has his supporters as well. Karel is brash, opinionated, narcissistic, and egocentric. He is not very nice to his callers. For me, how a talk show host treats his callers is important. He doesn't let callers have their say or respect opinions that differ from his. It's his way or you're gone. He interrupts constantly, not just callers, but guests and other radio people as well. He can try to justify it by saying there are a lot of time constraints when working in radio, but other hosts are a lot more polite about it. Karel just barges right in. It's rude. Another thing that is really irritating is his too frequent references to his late husband Andrew. I don't want to disrespect what he and Andrew had together. He shouldn't have to pretend that Andrew never existed. However, other hosts don't keep talking about their spouses, living or not. They keep their topics focused on the issues at hand. It's kind of alienating. As a listener, I feel like a third wheel. "When Andrew and I did this" "When Andrew and I did that" "When Andrew and I..." Andrew, Andrew, Andrew. Stop it!
I do sometimes try to listen to Karel, to see if he has anything interesting to talk about. But I get fed up and shut him off. For example, when he starts talking about himself and Andrew again. I turn the radio off so he can be alone with Andrew. Or when he goes into a rage and rants and raves. Or when he is rude to his callers. A good talk show host should make his or her listeners and guests feel welcome, and part of the program. I'm sorry, but Karel doesn't do that. He is very, very full of himself. A little humility and respect can go a long way. I really don't understand some of the changes that KGO has been making, but if Cumulus wants to improve the station, letting Karel go would be a good change. I hate to see anyone lose their job, but unless he is willing to make some changes of his behavior, I think that would be the best decision. To be honest, I would be relieved.
@4:42. I think many of us agree with you about Karel. He does have a few things in his favor.
ReplyDeleteBut, most all of us he has offended many times. My last straw with him was his hate towards Transgender people. A group of people that for many years have struggled and fought to be excepted. After trying to go it on their own they tied their star to the gay rights movement even though most are not "text book" gay. Karel wanted none of that and quickly threw them under the bus. He hates the term coined a few years ago......LGBT.
The afternoon sports guy is no better than the self-serving yutz in the morning. KGO is in the dumper anyway. Who cares?
