    1. Please Sussmann is wacky, it is nothing to do with him being conservative. Tom Sullivan is conservative, I'm liberal, I often listen to Tom, he has an interesting, informative show. Sussman is wacky, his weird noises, Katie's awful laugh (not Sussmann's fault) the whole show is a disaster. Why do you think Melanie Morgan walk out one day? Because she is an intelligent professional woman (and I don't agree with her politics either). " Only to liberal sheep", is that the only think you can come up with? I guess my response could be only a conservative sheep could be so simple minded, however I don't like to make generalize like that.

  4. I can hardly wait for Kenny to do the chin-whisker thing (as introduced by Gabby-Hayes lookalike Mike Sugarperson, and followed today by Paul the weatherman)

This may be the new KPIX look. (Liz, I know you can do it.)

  5. I worked with "Suss" back in the ol' KNTV days (pre-NBC). I'm stunned at what he has morphed into. Back then, he had a gay WX photog/producer...and used to do a pretty damn good job with his "Brian's Kids" segment (nearly all were poor/welfare black or Hispanic toddlers). A few of those families would even drop by 645 Park Avenue--and when the did, Suss would give them the tour/introduce them to everyone...and he was pretty genuinely sincere.

In-between shows, he NEVER ever talked politics. This was during the Reagan era(s)--and Suss NEVER ever talked about Reagan/Reaganomics...Jimmy Carter...Communism...none of that.

That's why I'm so stunned at the "Suss" that now works at KSFO.
    Simply stunned.

    1. Perhaps he, like most of us, are stunned at what happens when you finally give Democrats a little power. Keep fighting the good fight, Bri.

    2. "Finally" give democrats a little power? Did you take the same history class as Bri?

  6. This reaction puzzles me. Also knew Brian back then. He always had a lot of interests, always shared his beliefs freely, and seemed to live what he 'preached.' People have different types of epiphanies. I would guess that his weather anchoring TV career was no longer trending the way he wished, and that he made a change in course for a lot of practical reasons. People do.

  7. I belonged to the same gym as Sussman in the late 80s-early 90s. We'd occasionally talk, and he didn't seem political at all.

I always suspected his radio schtick early on was just an act, although after so many years he may have convinced himself that what he says is the truth.

  8. Ditto 7:21. I had a dozen interactions with Brian in the 80's and 90's, then overlapped with him in the last few years while working on a co-owned brand (they're not stations anymore). Hyde & Jekyll. The weatherman was fun, funny and if he had right wing views, I never knew it. Now he is a pompous blowhard, no class or cleverness, just predictable conservative blather. He preaches to the angry, elderly white choir, and doesn't persuade people like me, a true independent who doesn't want to be a D or R. Now he has to out-crazy Savage AND Rush everyday, and deal with a grating, shrill sidekick. For the downlow and the deep slide in ratings for conservative talk stations, read darrylparks.com

  9. He was humble in the beginning. His and Katie's incessant screaming and locker room antics wear me thin. I haven't listened in months. It's not the politics its the lack of class.

  10. Sussman has some very distinct and strange political beliefs, and I sometimes wonder if he actually believes some of the nonsense he spouts. I doubt it. His taking an extreme stance is probably a reaction to needing to jack up the ratings by saying as many outrageous things as he is capable of. That doesn't say a lot of his integrity, but then, KSFO is a joke of a station and has been pretty much since they were sold years ago by Gene Autry's Golden West Radio Network. By the way, who is that awful traffic-girl/sidekick with the gravelly voice and the attitude who works with him? She is absolutely the pits!

  11. About a dozen years ago a female friend asked me to accompany her to a new Saturday evening youth service at a non-denominational church in Redwood City. The service opened with a rock-type band, and then this guy came onstage to give the sermon. He was wearing jeans, a tee shirt and baseball cap. While he spoke, I kept thinking that this guy looked like Brian Sussman. After the service I went up to him and asked if anyone ever told him he looked like the weather guy on KPIX. He simply smiled, pulled out his wallet and showed me his driver's license with the name "Brian Sussman."

So Sussman is apparently a serious Christian, which would help explain his conservative leanings.

  12. Sussman needs to go full blown Alex Jones style. Also he needs to put a modulation auto tuner on the traffic boy and have the producer become heavily addicted to marijuana and alcohol while watching endless hours of David Lynch films.

Another suggestion if I may. Lose the annoying train blast and the ringing of a stupid tinker bell. ****!!! I hear all the time outside on a daily bases, now on the radio? Replace the noise with some rocking bumper music and now you got a show, able to compete with any pansy ass morning show in the Bay Area.

We don’t want it cheesy we want it sleazy. Uninhibited, unadulterated hard hitting fact spewing truth. Can he do it? Is he up to the challenge? I think he has it in him but he’s nervous that it might get him fired. But to that I would say, “Who wants to be a corporate man anyway?” Be a rebel WITH a cause. Snap the dial off the radio and blast out air waves that will melt the pineal gland of any pinhead. Come on Sussman!!!!! Do it, Do it, DO IT!!!!

  13. Your comments are for the most part dead on. Especially the noises, totally agree. Just posted on Brian's Facebook pointing out how juvenile the noises are. Yeasterday he went off on Nancy Pelosi saying she is, and I paraphrasing, she is old, old she is an old, old woman. What a jerk, what an insufferable jerk. Phyllis Scaffly is old, she is still the darling of conservatives.
