KRON'S Biggest Star Is Not Gary Radnich Or Darya Folsom; Jacqueline Bennett Weather Wonder Woman; Thursday Starter

Jacqueline Bennett is the chief meteorologist at KRON.

She has star power--how much?

Enough to generate mass interest from TV stations beyond the KRON landscape.

We've watched Bennett since her debut here in 2008 and admire her keen weather predicting and magnificent presence on the air.

Bennett has lots of assets including a fine sense of humor and ace in her field. We just hope she doesn't end up in LA anytime soon like others have.

Here's to you Jackie and more high-pressure systems this Summer.

  1. She reluctantly participates in the truly shudder-inducing "playful exchanges" with Radnich whenever the mood strikes him to put colleagues on the spot, "Who is your favorite hockey goalie of all time, Jacqueline?" and etc...she holds her own and has gotten better at giving it right back...here's hoping her career continues to ascend!

Somebody put Radnich out of our misery, please! Jason getting better and better, and he's cheaper!

  2. Bennett is good and fun to watch ,but how she puts up with radnich is beyond me.she deserves combat pay for having to sit there while he tells us that he made her, and shes not loyal to kron and on and on.

  4. Earlier you called her a Fresno Walmart cosmetics girl. What happened to change your mind?

    1. Yeah I'm puzzled by the sudden change of heart by Rich. I've been extolling the huge virtues of Jackie for at least three years on this forum while other weather gals received Rich's nodding approvals. Better late than never big fella. There's still room in the Jackie Bennett fan club!

    2. Well, *I* agreed with the Fresno comment. I thought that was an instance of Rich nailing it. However, consistency has never been a suit of this blog.

    3. Well, you're an idiot @11:38. She's one of the few people in the Bay Area actually credentialed to do weather.

    1. I'm sure she can but I'm also sure she doesn't have to if she doesn't want to.

DirecTV is running feeds of WCTI's coverage of Hurricane Arthur with Ellen Bacca on camera right now. She's conservatively dressed, knows the job, looks the camera in the eye, speaks without some sort of Third World accent or PC affectation and I LIKE IT.

    2. Note to all entrepreneurs: if there are lots of white male retrogrades such as rootvg then there's a huge opportunity to launch Aryan Weather Channel. Think about it. Hire all the white female rejects from Fox News and give them the bimbo air head valley girl look to satisfy the suppressed urges of guys like rootvg. Only downside is these guys are a dying breed so the initial bonanza might be short lived :(

    3. We are not the minority. YOU ARE. There are 55 Electoral votes in California, 160+ in the south and more in the midwest. Yes, Romney lost in 2012 because anywhere between two and four million Republicans stayed home. That's what Tom Del Beccaro says, former chair of the state party and a close personal friend. I have been to his house many times.

Call all the names you want. Doesn't matter, I'm still here and not going anywhere. I'm also not going to shut up.

    4. You're still butt hurt about Romney's loss!? Hillary will win and it'll be eight more years. The retrograde white male is dying. You can huff and puff all you want in Danville. Whether you leave or stay doesn't matter. The progressive train steamrolls ahead! Your constant whining about Bay Area and California politics is amusing. I don't go to your klan rallies to complain about them do I? Take a hike if you don't like it here.

    5. Do you know anything about American politics at all? Hillary could never carry two out of three among Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. She might (and I say might) take Florida but Ohio and Pennsylvania are definitely out. More than likely she would have to have Ohio and there's just no way. Seventy five percent of the districts there are Republican and she has all that baggage. I don't see it happening.

    6. What baggage? The pseudo scandals you and the tea baggers try to concoct out of whole cloth? It'll be the same as when your ilk tried to say Obama was born in Kenya and he was a Muslim. While you're making crazy accusations the nation laughs at you and Obama did his thing. Go ahead get preoccupied with Lewinsky and Benghazi and watch Hillary prance into the White House with a landslide. But I won't try to convince you anymore. After all: "WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE!!???".
      Lol

    7. Listen to yourself. Everything in your posts is uncontrolled emotion - and libs are like that which makes them very easy to defeat. Very easy but not pretty. As a conservative, I know from experience that if I present maximum force right up front (fist in the face sort of stuff) the average lib can't handle it. Think of what the average sociology or elementary education major is like when you put them in a situation where they suddenly have to live by their wits. They fall apart...and if I came to you and did the same thing you would fall apart as well. You're a walking liberal cliche, spouting talking points from Kos. I would chew on you like a dog.

I'm not concocting anything. I'm saying she could never win Ohio given the state's demographics and that's it. Obama will not be on the ballot and it will make a huge difference. I spent thirty years there. My family, friends from high school still live there. I know.

Did you know McCain was ahead in Ohio and Florida until Lehman went down? Paulson let Lehman crash due to some old grudge going back several decades and a lot of old folks got crushed but that can't/won't happen again. We are not the United States of California.

    8. I'm not done. It probably means nothing to you that Bill Clinton signed NAFTA in 1993 but it's been a hell of a big deal to organized labor which is what traditionally has kept the Democratic party fat and happy in this country. What are the bean counters at the DNC replacing them with? Gays. Why? They're loaded. That's where all the whole emancipation-for-homosexuals thing is coming from. Learn to think tactically. DON'T FEEL. If you had done that or could do that, you would already know this.

There's more. I may have discussed here once or twice that George Washington hated parties and only agreed to two if they were dedicated to the same goals by different means. Okay, fine...so that's how we got Bill Clinton signing bills that repealed Glass Steagall and disemboweled organized labor in the United States. It all now makes sense.

I warned you, I've been doing this for a hell of a long time.

    9. Hey tough guy. I have an advanced degree in sociology. If you got in my face talking this nonsense I'd knock you on your regressive ass.

      Delete
    10. The fact that you have an advanced degree in Soc helps make my point better than I ever could on my own. You are exactly what I said you were...and I don't even know you.

It's also been my experience that university departments of Sociology and Education were always the last stop on campus before returning home to the parents and telling them you couldn't hack college. One of the real reasons we got No Child Left Behind was because the Bush administration and Republican Congress got tired of people around the world talking shit about US public education and decided to get aggressive about fixing it. There are now a number of states that no longer have teacher tenure. No more dumb blondes with IQs of 90 getting government jobs they can't be fired from.

Oh, and by the way...don't bother with some mealy mouthed sanitized-for-the-masses shaking your finger PC response to anything I write here. I don't care. I'm immune.

    11. There is another story I have to tell you. Long about 1989, I was finishing up my Bachelors degree at a state school in the midwest when someone told me I needed another elective and I chose a course called Social Problems. It was a freshman elective and I was a senior but no matter, I needed an easy hit and signed up. One cold morning in October (I can still see the snow coming down, sitting in that classroom) the PhD teaching the class was droning on about the inhumanity of mass production when I finally got sick of it and raised my hand, asking him in front of thirty mostly freshman girls why the Germans and Japanese were using it because at that time they were knocking the hell out of our auto industry. This guy looked at me with his mouth open, stammered around not knowing what to say as if I had suckered punched him and basically fell apart. I knew I landed a good one when I heard whistles coming from the back of the classroom - and no, I didn't fail the course. I got an A. Mark Taussig still teaches there as far as I know (we have mutual friends) and to this day will not speak to me.

Moral of the story? He was intellectually and emotionally weak. You probably are as well. That's why you majored in Soc. It was an easy hit just as that class was an easy hit for me - but I'm not weak. I was looking to get into a fight and found it. Sound familiar?

    14. Well why don't you haul your ass from Danville to the UC Berkeley sociology department to debate us so we can put your nonsense in place. Troy Duster, Harry Edwards, Claude Fischer etc etc will make mince meat out of your backwards silliness...

  10. KRON has a history of lovely ladies covering the weather. Is Evelyn Taft still in LA? And Lisa Hernandez(?) in Florida?

  11. I watch kron only on rare occasions but have caught the uncomfortable exchanges between Raddy and the girls. I'd pay to see them filing their nails or checking their email, oblivious to raddy's attempts to stir things up

  13. Whether leaves or stays it doesn't matter, they're a thousand beautiful women lined up at the door for that job.

  14. Jackie is the best thing going on the weeknight newscasts. I just want to watch her over Fatnich. Pam Moore is a solid pro, but no match for Jackie. It's too bad she has to work with that overstuffed, conceited, time has passed him by piece of poop known as Radnich.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hmmm, if she has other stations beckoning, then why did she she secretly meet with 3 LA stations for a job (while under her KRON contract no less) but turned down for those jobs? The women hired instead have a much better on air presence and have more experience than just KRON

    ReplyDelete
  16. How long ago did Jackie meet with these other stations? I'm sure she can get hired in in LA because of her "assets." It looks like she wants out of KRON and go back home to LA. Leaving KRON is like making parole. Good luck to her.

  17. Who dresses her? She looks like her clothes come from Target in Fresno. Also could use a new makeup artist. No way she could get away with looking like that in the LA market.
