  3. My favorite Album by Lou Reed was the little known "Berlin". It was in parts delightfully strange, and infinitely sad, just like life.

  4. I remember this getting mainstream airplay back in 1972 when it was released. Years later the original version is hard to find, and you get the 'edited" version. Odd how after 40 years of 'progress" and enlightenment, in some areas, we seem to have become a bit more prudish and uptight.
I was a huge Reed fan, enjoying the album Transofrmer that 'Walk on the Wild Side" came from. Another cut from that album, Satellite of Love was used in a commercial recently in the last year or two, and now 'Perfect Day", also off of Transformer, is being used now for some video game commercial.
I too enjoyed Berlin, for what I guess back in the mid seventies would pass for what today would be classified as Goth......I enjoyed the song 'Sad Song"...Alice Cooper had a hit with the tune, by changing the lyrics, and titling it 'Only Women Bleed'. The backing band and "songwriters" for Cooper at the time were the same guys who backed Reed a few years previous on the Rock and Roll Animal tour.
