Will Barbara Simpson get a show on 910 or 960?
ReplyDeleteProbably not.
Delete> Barbara Simpson is reportedly talking to a lawyer, I'll leave it at that...
ReplyDeleteBorn in 1937, Barbara turns 77 this July. Will "The Babe" allege age and/or gender discrimination à la Christine Craft?
I don't know but that's a pretty good start if she were to go that route.
DeleteBarbara Simpson is 77????? I thought she was in her 60's. She looks good! I'm talking about recent pics on her Facebook page, not her old glamour shot.
DeleteAge discrimination suits aren't available to persons under age 40 or above age 70.
DeleteUnless Cumulus did something totally egregious, what does she have to sue? CA is a right to work state and she, being part time, may be let go as long as her contract is fulfilled. Was she promised something that was unfulfilled? We, as little bees, don't know the particulars of that or even if she had a contract or its details. Either way, if she is up-to-date on healthcare benefits (if any) per contract, salary and severeance (per AFTRA and/or Cumulus), a non-renewal for whatever reason or for stepping over her own contractual bounds and clauses, what's she got to sue for?
DeleteAttorneys are always the quickest "out" when the blame is reflected to that feeling offended for termination. It gives comfort. If, however, she was fired for any "directional change" or other matter (non following social networking rules or obligations,) she may not have been fired "for cause," but is still expendable as an employee.
If, on the other hand, this is over healthcare not being paid up by Cumulus, vacation not paid for, ratings incentive bonuses not paid, other conditions of "service" through advertisers endorsements, etc, provable discrimination of health and age, then, she should file and spend attorney money doing so. People are terminated and unless it's provable that she was harmed by her being a "perfect" employee, then, it will be difficult to plot a settlement.
While the Facebook page remains, all mention of KSFO logos and such have been removed, no doubt at the demand of Cumulus Media.
DeleteIf it's true that Barbara Simpson is about to turn 77, then I admire her all the more. I hope I have a tenth of her interest and zest for life when I get that age. The Happy Gardener is another Sunday Treasure, one I hope they do not remove. He is about 86 I believe. I guess Barbara has stopped writing pieces for World Net Daily along with her own facebook page.
DeleteBarbara Simpson has NOT stopped writing pieces for Worldnetdaily. In fact, just a few minutes ago I read her recent article posted today. She is as feisty as ever.
DeleteBy the way, I was never really sure how old Barbara was, but my guess was always that she was in her 70s. If you consider the fact that she looked like she was in her 40s back when she was on KTVU in the 1980s, then the math would lead us to her being in her 70s today. Yet despite her age, she looks amazingly good, which makes sense. From what I hear, she eats a lot of organic foods.
Simpson was born in 1937? I distinctly remember Barbara saying she was born after WW2....yeah, sure Barbara, now we know.
DeleteNot unless Christine can take time at 69 to defend her.
DeleteDefend her from what? When someone sues someone, they aren't defendants. I learned that before I was 69.
DeleteIs Julie Haener a Holograph?. Winter,Summer,..you don't know the day listening and looking at her.
ReplyDeleteThat is funny!
DeleteDo you have any obsessions outside of Radnich and Haener and perceived (if unreal) racism, Stan?
DeleteWho won the "Street of San Francisco" ?
ReplyDeleteI checked. You wouldn't know him, but it wasn't you. Sorry. Next time. Thanks for playing. Lew from Atlanta ... hello.
DeleteWhat does Mike Amatori (sp) do at KGO now? I believe he is still employed there, but what does he do? He used to do the best spots for all kinds of things, especially regarding the hosts...classic ones with Pete Wilson and Gene Burns. Compilations of them were incentives at the Leukemia fund raiser and for Thanksgiving charities. I don't hear any commercials that seem good enough to attribute to him. Most seem prepackaged by the companies...i.e. the horrible window commercials with Kathleen and those children that sound like they are special needs children and that is unkind to special need children. Sorry, but I would never put my children out there sounding like that... give me Kars for Kids! Anyway, in addition to missing the old hosts and management I miss Mike! Oh, and what is the thing about Ronnnnnnn and engineer?lc
ReplyDeleteMike does production and keeps his very funny and creative quiet to avoid the dragon's wrath. Maybe, now, he'll be brought back to add to the new myrth and merriment about to launch. Bets are being taken now. I'd say by July 4th. Another bettor says September.
DeleteIf you were the CEO of a revolutionary portable kielbasa griller coming to market that need a single Amplitude Modulation frequency to energize its grilling elements, what kHz would you solely dedicate to the operation of your new invention?
ReplyDeleteAnd once you successfully grilled this kielbasa and slathered it with an ample amount of mustard and sauerkraut placed gently on a loaf of rye bread that was complimented with a garnish of pickle spears, who would you rather share it with? A traffic girl or a weather girl? And why?
Thank you, I’ll take my answer online.
Who is going to replace Carolyn Johnson? And who is next to leave?
ReplyDeleteAt 10:09 PM last night on KTVU's Sunday (5/18/14) 10 PM newscast, Heather Holmes was describing the day's Bay to Breakers adventures and the reasons some celebrants had been arrested during the event, one of them being Public Intoxication. The graphic on the screen, however, read "Pubic Intoxication" (one's mind races trying to figure out exactly what that could entail). Unlike another somewhat well-known KTVU anchor in another situation, she didn't fall for the obvious prank. Heaven forbid, is the original prankster still on the loose at KTVU?
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the annual "Salavation Army" story.
