A gag order memo to staffers is now in effect. May not discuss any news, speculation, rumor or conjecture to anything regarding KGO. No media interviews. No utilizing Cumulus computers, social media, e-mail accounts, or telephones, other than "no comment."
They haven't denied anything nor confirmed either. Coincidence? Perhaps. You be the judge.

"They haven't denied anything nor confirmed either. Coincidence? "
ReplyDeleteAnd that's supposed to mean something? No one but Lieberman would suggest that the absence of a denial implies anything.
It's good that you rattled the cage, poked the sleeping bear and kicked the dog. But you know what, it may not mean a thing. KGOne will probably still be a shell of its old self. Syndicated satellite talk will probably rule the day. And you'll get to hear that sing-song voice of Peter Finch on the newscasts. And let's not forget Lowenstein, Owensburg, Liebowitz or whatever his Ronness calls himself. They still have to pay him to do a Radnich -- mail it in. Sounds real positive, but facts is facts. So glad to have satellite radio!
ReplyDeleteI still think I like "Blowens"even if I don't care for the source.
DeleteWhere do you get photos like that?...I'm sure right now looking at it D.Bruce is getting a boner...
ReplyDelete3;42 PM If you have to ask a question like that "Where do you get photos like that?" then you don't need to know. You , Pal, are 'not ready'.
DeleteUndoubtedly sicko Stan is titillated by the picture above and childishly attributes his own twisted feelings to someone else, D. Bruce.
DeleteStan, get help.
I'm not Stan nor D Bruce; however I admit to finding the pic kind of hot and I'm not proud of it.
Delete9;34 PM Please accept my invitation to out next HornDogs Anonymous Recovery Workshop. You can wear a bag over your head or any other part of yourself. Our Motto is "No Name= No Shame". Donations or Acts of Generosity Accepted.
DeleteWonder why Sicko Stan isn't complaining that the woman in the picture doesn't represent minorities? Not 50% Hispanic or 25% Asian.
DeleteAll anonymous, all missing the point. Typical Republicans. Cowards and stupid.
DeleteAnd 745,How do you know she isn't? See my comment on Repub and stupid.

Stan,Beloved liberal bay area icon now for decades! Hey,give me your phone numbers,I will call you and then report 100% of the time you came to the conclusion "I'm a great guy!".
I have no comment.
ReplyDeleteCan't say that I blame them, and it is certainly their right. So let's all take a deep breath, and just pretend it's "life before social media and blogs"..........we'll find out what's happening in due time. (Some might think that Rich's source - or sources - are still going to "spill the beans" - but it would likely cost him/her/them his/her/their jobs - so, not likely we'll be hearing anything more from this blog)
ReplyDeleteVee Haff Vaays to Make you Tahlk!..... Has anyone been offered a plate of Pancakes smothered in Blueberries with maybe a Cheese Omlet and some Hickory flavored Bob Evans links on the side ? Get back with me when you do. I hear it has worked before.
ReplyDeleteOh, and it really helps loosen the tongue if the pancake syrup has been flavored with just a drop of Tequila.
Rich, You are creating a stellar blog here! And your style so reminds me of long, long ago...Herb Caen.
ReplyDeleteMy only hope: KGO doesn't present RightWing ONLY Radio for the KGO listening audience.
Look at the hosts who've already sold their souls to the big plutocracy wheels:
Sean Hannity: Heritage began sponsoring Hannity in 2008 and paid $1.3 million in 2011 to a broker to arrange and fund the deal, according to the group’s IRS filings. Last year, Hannity began doing ads for the Tea Party Patriots, lending his name to fundraising drives, hosting its leaders on his radio and Fox News shows, and even using the Fox airwaves to promote the Tea Party Patriots website HannityforSanity.com.
Mark Levin: The Koch brothers-backed Americans for Prosperity paid at least $757,000 primarily to sponsor his radio show — a sponsorship that covered part of the 2012 cycle, when he joined David Koch and Americans For (Koch) Prosperity President Tim Phillips in boosting Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch. After AFP ended its sponsorship, Levin began doing ads for the Tea Party Patriots, touting its campaign to “fire” House Speaker John Boehner. He also apologized for endorsing people, whom some Tea Party Patriots’ leaders opposed.•
If only the Tea Party would wake-up to realize they have been promoted/funded/directed with powerful chains pulled by The Plutocracy. (look it up)
"Conservative talk radio in the United States is a phenomenon that got its start in the 1980's when the Fairness Doctrine was allowed to expire under President Reagan. This allowed broadcasters to present a political opinion or point of view or pundit without being required to allow equal time for alternative views or rebuttal".

What a load of shit.

"Radio stations work under the frame work capitalism. (look it up)"
DeleteHmm...Okay, I'll look it up at Channel 2, where I worked once. They had Fred Zehnder as the news director. He made it Cox's most profitable station and the most profitable station in the Bay Area. He did it by breaking all the rules that are commonly accepted as common sense by others. After he left there was a meeting where the new suits said basically Fred had been "lucky" all these years and they were going to do better than him, basically by going back to all the things he had undone and proven were inefficient and unsuccessful. And over the next six or seven years they did this. And KTVU fell. And now it's hemorrhaging red ink. It's made the same stupid mistakes it used to serve as an example not to make. And yet the Cox suits won't admit they're wrong. They keep patting each other on the back and paying each other bonuses out of money that they take from employees and station upkeep every year to deny the obvious, that Fred was right and they are wrong. But they'd rather drown than admit they're wrong, like idiots who believe inoculations cause disease would rather see their children die than admit their beliefs are wrong, like the idiots who refused to believe Ignaz Semmelweis enjoyed seeing people die from infections because they refused to wash their hands, while still patting themselves on their backs that they were right about germ theory.
The U.S. does not and has never worked under the "framework of capitalism." If it did, we'd have no auto industry and wouldn't have since the 1970s.
It's true. Detroit hasn't been competitive for a very long time. Most of the Rust Belt hasn't been competitive since that time for the same reasons. That region has the same problems they have in the north of England and the powers over there are handling it the same way we are increasingly handling it here. They're issuing welfare checks.

ReplyDelete@6:04 PM "... allowed broadcasters to present a political opinion or point of view or pundit without being required to allow equal time for alternative views or rebuttal."
ReplyDeleteYou present your argument as if broadcasters were "allowed" only that one thing, but in truth, they were also allowed to do something else, the one thing that defines for-profit enterprises in America: let the market influence the product. Because I have yet to see any evidence that broadcast owners try to lose money, or ignore any lucrative market segment, I'm thinking it is not the broadcasters who've deprived the liberal audience of adequate or equal time, but the liberal audience itself.
What happens when idiots are in charge.
ReplyDeleteHey Rich, did you see that Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett was arrested in Minneapolis airport?
