TV, Radio, Internet...dishing dirt since 2001
Happy Memorial Day. I was proud to serve in the Navy back in the wanning years of the Carter Administration. I learned just enough swimming to escape Boot Camp. I was sent to the U.SS Illusive 448 MSO, The Illusive was a Minesweeper based in Charleston S.C. She was 77 feet in length and get this had a hull entirely made of wood. I was a terrible fish outta water type Sailor. I enjoyed the travel and learning to steer the ship while I smoked cigarrettes through the night shift. I was a supply petty officer, feeling like Don Knotts aboard a ship in McHales' Navy. I don't regret it, but was ready to leave active duty during the Reagan Administration. I recall being in El Ferro Spain, near Mallorca, seeing huge posters for the premiere of The Raging Bull, starring Robert DeNiro. The fabric posters covered the western side of a ten storey building and could be seen for miles.
You know who's mad today? Kanye West. Kanye is pissed because his circus of a wedding was greatly overshadowed and pushed off of Drudge by what? By Elliot Rodger, a 22 y/o psychotic killer. Some blogs are describing him as INCEL = Involutarilly Celibate.Sad case. The young man was actually a very good writer, judging by his so called 'Manifesto' , but his vanity, paranoia and depression overwhelmed all else. How ironic that his dad, Peter Rodger produced a movie called 'Oh My God' in 2009, where he traveled the world asking celebrities what the word GOD meant to them. Ringo Starr was one of those people. The movie sank and bankrupted him for a while. How sad the Peter Rodger never asked himself or his son that question in a non-snarky way.
How is that ironic?
Gravitate to your celebrity trivia and tragedy of the week on Tuesday. For now, recognize the meaning and importance of Memorial day.
Wow 11:38, you're so right, that never dawned on me. Kanye & Kim are missing the number one news story...so sad. This Santa Barbara Story is devastating! But it's showing us how many people are going crazy with a gun in hand!
To think that Karel read the war dead names was a good thing, until he got ridiculous talking about the shootings in Santa Barbara, praising Michael Moore -- and dong it while wearing a freaking pink napkin on his head and another over his microhone, laughing stupidly about it. Casey then got into a screaming match with listeners while filling in for Langan. If KGO goes to the 'new" WABC format that changed when it lost Limbaugh and Hannity to WOR, people are not going to be happy here. I see KGO keeping Thurston and Ronn, but that's about it. Stay tuned. Langan has been doing fill in talk on WABC since February.
You're full of shit. Saying guns kill is the same as saying spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat.The Supreme Court has effectively ruled on Second Amendment rights for the remainder of our lifetime. Read Heller and McDonald. It's done.
I think it's the other way around: People went crazy first; then they got their gun.
5:21Here's the deal: The Constitutional rights granted under the Bill of Rights are extremely important and cannot be taken away from the people, but that doesn't mean that they aren't subject to reasonable restrictions that are necessary for the operation of a functional society. The First Amendment guarantees the right to freedom of speech, and freedom of the press. Does that mean that I can reveal national security information, and publish it in the newspaper or post it on the internet, without fear of criminal prosecution? No, of course not--ask Edward Snowden about that, for example. The right to freedom of speech isn't absolute, and it's subject to reasonable restrictions necessary for the functioning of society. The First Amendment also guarantees that right to free exercise of religion. Does that mean that my religion can do ritual sacrifices of virgins each full moon and we'll never be charged with murder, because it's our sincere religious belief that the Gods require us to do that? No, of course not. The right to free exercise of religion isn't absolute, and it's subject to reasonable restrictions necessary for the functioning of society. The Second Amendment guarantees (in language that is far less clear than other guarantees of the Bill of Rights) the right to keep and bear arms. Does that mean that prisoners (who, let's not forget, are still protected by the Constitution and retain all their constitutional rights to the extent their exercise of those rights isn't inconsistent with incarceration) can carry around loaded Glocks strapped to their hips, as you or I might be able to do if we want to? No, of course not The right to keep and bear arms isn't absolute, and it's subject to reasonable restrictions necessary for the functioning of society. So anybody who thinks that the Second Amendment is sacrosanct in all circumstances and there can be no restrictions whatsoever on the rights it confers is either delusional or a frickin' idiot. We can have a legitimate argument about whether any given restriction is reasonable, necessary, or workable, and reasonable minds usually can disagree about that in any given case. But if your argument is that the Constitution prohibits any restrictions whatsoever of this particular constitutional right (unlike all other Constitutional rights, which nobody disagrees are subject to reasonable restrictions), then you've already lost the argument.
The pinheads who are in love with their guns are profoundly ignorant about constitutional law and yet extraordinarily outspoken in misstating how it supports their cause.
America Balls, Bitch!! Yeah!! Rrrrrrr!!
KSJO is Nash, neighbors.
Memorial Day is a good day for a format flip, pardner!
