  1. I like it. Very elegant, suave and fun. It helps that the whole piece is visually driven, with lots of subtle facial expressions. Nice and not overdone, the way a less sure director would have done it. The use of the green bottle's color at the very end helps to burn the product image in your mind.

  2. I would like to find out whose doing that light jazz fugue in the first part. That's what I want to know. They can keep their water. I got some here, comes right outa the tap.

  3. Crapmeisters. As much as I enjoy San Pellegrino (and their Limonata mixes VERY well with gin...), this commercial puts me off. Makes me want to start drinking Canada Dry...

  4. The "creative" director on that is probably as Italian as Stanley is Scottish...

    1. Who's trying to imply he's Italian? Why must he be Italian? You sound so much like you're trying to be suave and clever with nothing to say.

    2. Companies advertise with regional ad agencies depending on the region they are advertising to. Just because the company is Italian that doesn't mean it has an Italian agency handling its advertising in the U.S. Pellegrino's advertising in the U.S. is surely handled by a U.S. agency, just as GM's advertising in Italy is handled by an Italian agency.

  5. Agree. No talking, just good music. And handsome men cooking. It's the only ad I've ever stopped what I am doing to watch and listen. The first actor is Pierfrancesco Favino.

  7. I agree! Having worked in advertising I can also say the art direction, cinematography and editing are top-notch, too.

  8. Oh, and the uncoolest commercial on TV that's trying to be cool: the Cadillac one where a guy who looks like the runner-up of the Gavin Newsom look-alike contest talks about kids at a playground wanting to be grown-up with moves that would put any adult in an emergency room while adults want to feel like kids again. Very contrived message and a ridiculously "LA" concept of what hipness is.

And this one was very difficult to create:

Rich is there a podcast of your show yesterday morning?

  10. Trespassing, Breaking and Entering, Grand Theft. The Restaurant is clearly closed. They break in and steal the food and the Pellegrino! The follow up commercial should be seeing them getting booked at the Police Station
