KTVU's Allie Rasmus On The Anchor Desk Over the Weekend and Did Just Fine

Allie Rasmus/KTVU photo
Allie Rasmus, a fine field reporter for KTVU the past three years worked the anchor desk over the weekend with Ken Wayne and was pretty damn good.

I'm assuming co-anchor, Heather Holmes is on vacation or took a few nights off.

Rasmus was pleasant, has a nice delivery and looked at ease --I don't believe she's ever anchored before, maybe once or twice at best but her weekend performance with Wayne provided smooth delivery and a fairly wry sense of humor.

That may sound like a natural but in today's superficial news-reading TV programs, it's a huge plus.

Here's hoping this isn't a one-time operation and that Rasmus gets more anchor time at the desk. It would certainly give KTVU a jolt and boy do they need it.

    1. She will end up at a major network if she wants it. If she wants it.

  2. She is a much better anchor than Heather Holmes. Nice work, I saw a bit of her Saturday night before tuning in to the Formula One race.

  5. Is Heather Holmes in trouble after the 'snot-gate' incident Richie?

  6. Anyone is better than Brian Flores. I hope KTVU is NOT grooming him for an anchor position. He is like a mushroom-he taking on everyone else's bad habits.

  8. @Kathleen: Brian Flores is actually really good. A breath of fresh air. And Allie is just as good.

  9. I know it's not as sexy as TV news but if you need some radio news for your blog...there's a new CHR/rhythmic to compete against KMEL & KYLD...and the February ratings are out.

  10. If you're surprised that Rasmus can handle any work in front of the camera, you haven't been watching. She was good when she showed up as a free lancer and seems to be immune from catching the "twosies".

    She has a bright future...anywhere.
