Busted Leland Yee Received Honor from Journalist Society for 'Efforts to Bring Greater Govt. Transparency'

You want irony? You got irony and you got it FIRST from 415 Media!

Senator Leland Lee, who was arrested by the feds on Wednesday, just last week received an honor from the Society of Professional Journalists "for his efforts to bring greater government transparency."

It gets better:

I am honored to receive this award," said Yee.  “I’m proud to share the stage with so many who have done so much to keep our government open and accountable.”

Yee received the award in recognition of his opposition to efforts to weaken the California Public Records Act by loosening disclosure requirements for local governments.

  1. Funny stuff! Don't know he dodged the twin bullets of Ed Jew singing like a canary and his own late night trollin' for 'hos but I guess the third time's the charm...

  2. He must have had a "family-type" home also in San Mateo on Alameda de las Pulgas around 42nd avenue because today the area was entirely blocked off with people wearing FBI jackets along with SM Police cars.

  3. Lee Yee is a whore who hangs around with whores.

Btw, did he ever return the suntan lotion?

  4. He is innocent unless other wise proved guilty in a court of law.
If I was his other wise I would hire a good team of lawyers.
Because a court of law is sending his ass to San Quentin for 30 years.
    Thank you.

  7. The greasy little weasel was behind the bullet button legislation. Ironic he got pinched for gun trafficking involvement. It'll get interesting if he testifies against Chow (bang bang).

Boys and girls, this is how you turn out if you don't work for your money.

  8. You really should quit your crowing because you obviously haven't been paying much attention to American history. There are just as many corrupt right wingers and Republicans, and you know it as well as I. The two most corrupt Presidencies of the 20th century were Republicans; Harding and Nixon. Back in the latter stages of the 19th century during the infamous: 'Gilded Age,' when big business titans such as JP Morgan and Rockefeller pretty much ran this country, we had a whole series of GOP Presidents who pretty much rubber-stamped whatever corrupt deal business wanted to transact. So don't get all high and mighty. Your party has just as many, if not more, bad apples. Leland Yee sounds like a bad guy, and he'll probably have to pay the price as he should for his indiscretions. But inferring that 'libs' are any more corrupt that conservatives is the epitome of naivete.

  12. You think that's gall? KRON tonight had Michael Yaki express "shock" at the charges against Yee. "After what he stood for" said Yaki. And of course Yaki just paid a $75,000 fine to illegal lobbying on behalf of some underhanded company.
    Chutzpah galore.

  14. let's see...he doesn't want honest ordinary citizens to have guns, but it's OK for him to be a gun runner.

  15. If this is a typical federal case, the charges that get headlines will end up getting tossed, he may plea to a minor charge, and the feds who put the case together will be enjoying their new promotions in another town before the shoddiness of the case is revealed. And then, even if he is convicted - it will end up getting dumped by a judge with similar political leanings.

  16. I am enjoying a nice, relaxing, warm bath of Schadenfreude. To hear that Leland Yee has been busted for the particular kinds of charges alleged against him and others--especially regarding guns, smuggling of cigarettes, and selling of political favors--when he has for years been one of the most obnoxious and loud among the nanny state types, is almost too good to be true. Almost a parody of hypocrisy and phoniness.

  17. prior to 2012 their term limit was 6 years. after 2012 it's 12 years, 3 Dems that we know of have betrayed the public trust. They can't be trusted they have showed that. the longer they are in office the more chance they are to let the power of the office go to their heads and their wallets. They need to go back to 6 year terms.
California needs to get a 6 year term limit on the ballot.

  18. Just another case of people taking advantage of other people and the world. There are soo many people like Leland Yee in positions of government or corporate positions and they abuse their position and get away with things that are detrimental to humanity and doing the right thing. I really don't know how to combat this but it seems to keep happening. Humans are humans and there seems to be some inherent flaws that make people do the wrong thing. But it is happening too much and we really need to figure out how to minimize it more. Urgh!
