415 Media Exclusive: Melanie Morgan Returning to Bay Area Radio; Ex-KSFO Talkie Heads to KSRO as Morning News Anchor and ND

Melanie Morgan will be joining KSRO Radio in her new capacity as News Director and primary anchor of the Santa Rosa station's morning news program.

The veteran former KGO Radio reporter and KSFO talk host left KSFO last July amid issues involving her business relationship with partner Brian Sussman.

She begins her new position at KSRO Monday morning.

Morgan spent a good part of her Bay Area radio career co-hosting the "KSFO Morning Show" with the late Lee Rodgers.

She also frequently appeared as a guest on the cable shows on CNN, Fox News Channel, and MSNBC as a conservative pundit.

  1. Although I rarely agreed with Melanie, and at times found her annoying and somewhat mean spirited, she is head and shoulders above Sussman and Katie Green, will she be on opposite those two yahoos? I know she has a loyal following from her before Sussman days, and I would love to see her go against him, and corner some of his audience.

  2. This is good news. I'll need to figure out where ksro is on the dial. I'm glad Melanie is diversifying what roles to fill. She has the experience. The only thing that could be bigger would be if she could get OV, or Officer Vic to chat with a few times a week. Its always good to hear his voice, but he is somewhat lanquishing at 910am doing traffic only. But at least he's on the air. I'm eager to see if Melanie will have guests, and how she will interview them. Show business is in her blood, lucky for us.

  3. KSRO is at 1350AM...I don't know how far into the Bay Area it reaches, though.

    1. I can hear a faint signal of KSRO in San Jose. Here's the Radio Locator signal map of the daytime signal. http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=KSRO&service=AM&status=L&hours=D

  4. More right-wing vitriol...just what we needed...I have to defend their right to spew it, but I sure as heck don't have to listen to it.

  7. Hey Rich, why do so many of your posters refuse to identify themselves? Are they just cowardly brown-nosing Cumulus interns who shouldn't forget the "brown toilet paper" as you put it. I can understand it if they are actual on-air personalities and local bay area media figures who don't want their names published on a blog, but if they're just anonymous losers, what's the problem? Are they that afraid of incurring the wrath of Lieberman?

    1. You mean the same kind of loser as you, Mr or Ms. Anonymous?

That sounds worse than I mean it, but I just love the people who complain about anonymous posters who are themselves posting anonymously.

At least have the brass to claim a screen name.

    1. I must admit I have a weakness for pasty white cottage cheese thighs and asses. Thank god for the Anonymous option!

  11. Makes no sense. She is talented. That job can't pay more than $ 75-80k a year.
Probably needs to pay the bills at home. Remember after the mass terms at KGO, Jack Swanson was to find a new spot on the dial... NOT. Somebody could probably buy the whole KSCO outfit for $ 100K. The radio biz is half of what it used to be.

    1. Lol! No kidding. Ten years ago if you had told Melanie that she'd be doing radio out of Santa Rosa she'd have laughed out LOUD! Is an unpaid volunteer job at kpfa in the future of Ronnn Blowensteinnnnn!!??
