Slow News Day in Washington, (Sort of)

This is news?

I mean, don't get me wrong, there's a lot  on Barack Obama's plate right now, but seriously, this is absurd, don't you think?

Oh hell, I just opened the door.

  1. The Republicans think the sky is falling. But when the bankers looted the economy, none went to jail,no Republican asked for them to be jailed or even where the money went. The bankers are their idols, why make trouble for them?

    1. Where were your beloved lib leaders when the crisis hit? The first thing they did was point fingers, not roll up their sleeves.

Think the problem got solved? Guess again nit wit,. The fed is printing 4 Billion a day and handing it directly to the banks you distrust. How bout them apples! The problem is worse then before but the immediate symptoms have temporarily been disguised. Stay tuned, more pain is on the way.

The GBLA allowed the mortgage failure, it was an act written by the gop and signed/endorsed by Mrs. Clinton's husband when he was the POTUS. A Bi-Partisan screwing. Greenspan deserves blame as well, who by the way, had worked under both parties.

I hope the gop finds a way to put obama where he belongs...in jail. He's easily the worst president in my lifetime.

    2. remember the time Obama started that war in the Middle East and bankrupted our moral standing in the world? Then remember when well over 100,000 were killed because of it? Then remember how he actually put to work the TARP, which while not perfect, has resulted in a nice return? Then remember when he passed health care, which no president for 40 years could accomplish, in the face of an industry and a GOP that refused to allow it, but then instead made sure it was terrible? Yet he still got it done? Yeah, easily the worst president in your lifetime. But I'll admit, for a 5 year old, you have a solid grasp of the English language. - DW

    3. 330. Where were you when we attacked Iraq? Kuwait? who was President? Bush and Bush.
Clinton did say that it was his biggest mistake. And George Bush jr fought tooth and nail to keep the looting going. What did he do? He took more of your money to prop the economy. It was Obama, who made that money contingent on loans. Bush gave it!
Bush said " I didn't want to be president of the new Depression". So,he spent us into a giant debt. The bankers kept what they stole.
Ah..how clearly I remember it all..

    4. Your thinking is flawed DW and you didn't address 12:57's topic of toxic finances but you still get credit for showing up.

Obamacare will be a huge disaster according to many in health care, tarp was signed in by GWB, the iraq invasion had overwhelming bipartisan support including Hillary...no arms were twisted. You failed to mention solyndra, so I wont bring it up.

If you really want to go down memory lane, tell the group how the the first major act of terrorism on US soil happened while Clinton was pres, or how kennedy got the US into Vietnam and Nixon got us out. Truman? Pretty sure he green lighted something really, really bad.

Tell us how the US position in the middle east has strengthened in the past four years and how Obama has put a lid on Iran, libia, or Syria? Credit for the OBL killing? The years of effort by the intel and spec ops troops in the trenches had zero impact, it's all about Obama and Panneta.

I'm not bring this stuff up because I'm a registered republican because I'm not one, but the left wing altruistic garbage makes me want to barf! Weasels and puppets.

      Peace and love

  5. Speaking of slow news..Greg Papa hired the "Melkmaids" of last year? How - why- did that happen?? This sounds like something his wife might not be happy to know..

  6. No one. He didn't do it. It was the good squad around him that will need to cast the blame. Obama didn't do it. Not his pay grade. Don't be a fool.

  7. And the repubs are quiet as Obama fires people left and right over the IRS. We ALL know damn well,Bush would have stonewalled. Behind the scenes Cheney gives medals to crooks for Bush.

  8. Sam Kinnison died enroute to Laughlin, NV, not Las Vegas in the early 90s, not in the 80s. He had been married for just six days at the time of the accident. He had previously been a Pentecostal preacher before turning to stand-up comedy. His car was hit by a 17-year-old who crossed over in Kinnison's lane. The young man was drunk. Mr. Kinnison was enroute to a sold out show in Laughlin the night of his death.

  9. As long as the obstructionist, paranoid right wing continues to hold this country hostage with it's 'take no prisoners, let's get that muslim-loving, corrupt liberal President out of office' attitude, this country will continue to sink into the mire.

Whatever happened to a civil, orderly, and cooperative Congress and Senate, where compromises were worked out for the good of the country?

The tea-party gang, the gun-toting nuts, the big business interests, and the bible belters all seem to think that this country belongs to them. Well guess what, there are about
240 million other Americans who see it a little differently.

Boy doesn't it hurt when you're outnumbered! Now you know how it feels. Get used to it you modern John Birchers!

Personally, I think a lot of angry white folks (and what the heck of they got to be angry about, they've got it better than 95 percent of the rest of the planet!) just don't like having an African American President, especially one who leans more to the left than to the right.

Msybe the Republicans will finally get their act together next time and come up with a candidate who appeals to the broad spectrum of America, not just to right wing or pale-skinned folks.

  10. My 16th..6:45..." Kennedy got us into Vietnam and Nixon got us out."
That's your warped interpretation of American history 101.

Do you remember the 'Gulf of Tonkin Incident' where one of our war ships was allegedly attacked by the North Vietnamese, and that prompted President Johnson to ask the Congress for a huge escalation that led to the war in Vietnam? Kennedy had talked in September in 1963 about pulling out of Vietnam because as he told Walter C. on CBS that fall: "IN the final analysis, it's their war, the Vietnamese people."

And Nixon? He promised: "Peace with honor," but his emissaries helped to ruin the Paris Peace talks in 1968, and then he continued the war for four long years, with the results of 24,000 more American soldiers killed, and over 350 thousand Vietnamese killed. Your warped interpretation of American history is astonishing!
