Giants TV Network isn't Yankees YES

The Giants rule the town. It's pretty obvious. They control not only the sports domain, but the social and even the political arena too.

Ask Ed Lee.

There's been talk about the possibility of the Giants forming their very own TV network, much like the Yankees deal with YES Network or the Dodgers local TV arrangement with Fox. We're talking a lot of money, billions actually.

But the Giants TV deal with Comcast is long-term; (the Giants own a small portion, not significant, but a portion)--how long? "Matt Cain's children will be ready for MLB when the contract is up," a Comcast official told me.

Don't cry for Larry Baer and company. They made a lot of money in 2012 and figure to make much more for many years forward. But forget the idea of a present-day "Giants Vision."

  1. Time and again, factually incorrect information come from this blog.

You say that the Giants "... own a small portion, not significant..." of CSNBA, this is incorrect.

The Giants own 1/3 of CSNBA, a not insignificant portion of the network.

    1. They don't own a third. Not even close.

  2. 45% owned by NBCUniversal, 30% owned by the San Francisco Giants and 25% owned by Fox.

  3. If they have it so made, why are they blocking the A's move to San Jose? And how can MLB support them?
