Countdown to 'Lieberman Live'

I'm about to boast.

My radio show is going to be good. You're going to like it because it's going to be original, live, local, national, international. That's a lot of chest-thumping, yes it is and because I know that it will resonate, I'm already thinking ahead of the game and look forward to you, my readers, and others, enjoying the show.

That's not egotistical, that's just confidence.

One of the things that annoys me the most about the current state of terrestrial radio is how many programs have to resort to gimmicky sound "drops", annoying artificial audio bites that are insults to you, the audience. Because they, the "talent", think you folks can't think on your own. Hell, if they can't talk, then what are they to do? They believe, wrongfully, that the insertion of wimpy sound effects will make you more "interested." Ha ha.

Sound is perfectly fine. An actual actuality is what it is: an audio clip, a play-by-play-account of a football game, sure there's a time and a place. Fart sounds and turkey gibberish amount to the lowest common denominator, which unfortunately draws traction to certain radio shows.

Call me old-school, old-fashioned. I like simple conversation. I'm a monologue guy. There's an eloquence to simplicity and people talking to you, not at you. And believe me when I tell you you're going to just love what I got to say beginning Saturday night.

*"Lieberman Live--The Rich Lieberman Show debuts this Saturday and Sunday Night, Nov. 24 and 25 from 8-11 PM, live on KOMY. You can listen to the show ANYWHERE by clicking on the audio link located at the top of the page on the right.
