Thanks for your column and insight. Many of us bay area folk wish to explore topics in a deep and thoughtful way, vs nifty sound bites. Your websight is for people like us, those who still write and read letters. With that said, I have two quick questions; Whateverhapped to Joanie Greggins? I was'nt much into her radio show in the last year, as she had become more socially active, but I miss her peppy optimistic spirit. What is Joanie doing now, and does she wish to return to terestrial radio? I miss Dr. Laura too......Question 2, Any guess on who might be considered to replace Brian Sussman on ksfo? I like and respect Brian, but he is best suited for a classroom setting. How does Melanie manage so well in her Second Banana position, when she could carry the show easily..?.....Okay, Rick, you've twisted my digital arm, so here's my third question, albeit unplanned, any 'talk' about Our Sarah Palin getting her own show? I would love that, I would watch, even were it not on Fox. Bueno Fin de Semana! (have a gd wknd)
Radio in SF has been dead a long time. Amazed that so many "radio buffs" here listen to every static ridden moment of this back water assortment of signals. One thing too, SF's influence on media or music ended 3 decades ago.
If you get rid of that moth-eaten Sony Walkman that you bought at the garage sale for $0.25, in one of your more frugal moments, you might be surprised to find that there aren't so many static-ridden minutes anymore. Wiseguy!
And if SF is so goddamn "back water", just where the hell do you think is good?? New York? Atlanta? Philly?
If you move Back East, you'll be raising the average IQ in both locations. Plus, you won't have to bitch any more.
Anybody else having issues on iHeart? Kgone and KSFO have been off air since before dawn. Enjoy your time off Rich, you've earned it with excellent posts recently
Have a great weekend, Rich. Enjoy the time off.
