Cumulus pulls stations off TuneIn App Support; No KGO KNBR and KFOG

BREAKING...

How about this?

From one of my insiders comes word of this latest development involving Cumulus and its Internet content.

Just found out that Cumulus pulled their stations off Tuned in app support. No more listening on the Internet. No KGO KNBR and KFOG!
Developing...

  1. I noticed it the other day. You have to download the station-specific app from the Google Play Store, at least for KSFO and KGO.

  2. And this affects me how?

In no way! Not in the least!

    1. And 720,if you went blind or had your wiener fall off..why should I care?
All your posts have the idiots contrarian thinking.

    2. good for you so why are you wasting your time writing the comment!!

    3. awesome...idiot. Why did you post in the first place?

    4. I've almost always experienced more stalling, buffering, and similar issues with station-specific apps. I only use those to get useful information such as schedules and RSS feeds.

  3. Well, in further news per my twitter account, the GAME 95.7 is announcing big changes tomorrow. Boy, I can't wait.

  4. This happened last week, wow where have some of you been? Once they started to promote iHeartRadio the other streaming sources were cut off. I am sure it was part of the deal Cumulus and Clear Channel set up. I am not sure how this is a "breaking story" when it was announced months ago Clear Channel and Cumulus had signed a deal.

What is a bigger deal is that Dan Patrick's show is no longer on the CSN Channels and his contract is up soon. This means that he is a soon to be free agent and both CBS (KNBR) and NBC Sports/Comcast will be bidding for him. Outside of Jim Rome he is probably the biggest prize out there to build a radio station around. Now to me that is BREAKING NEWS.....because it can truly change local radio becuase whichever group signs him (if he leaves DirecTV and their relationship with FSN) will make sure his show airs LIVE out here I am sure.

    1. Wish the kbnr 1050 would air it rather than the horriable nick and arnie show. Dp is not great sports talk too much bs with his co hosts but at least has good guests once and awhile.

  5. Another brilliant decision from the Cumulus brain-trust. Do you think they just sit around all day in Atlanta brainstorming new inventive ways to alienate what few listeners they have remaining? Tuned-in probably brought in a microscopic fraction of listeners, anyway, so why bother with the effort? Idiots.

  6. Didn't Cumatose cut a deal with Clear Channel a few months back? In exchange for allowing Clear to add the Cumulus stations to the IHeartRadio app, Clear would get on board with Sweetjack. My guess is this is just the other show dropping from that deal.

  7. Rich, I noticed it two or three days ago and instinctively went to iHeart radio and both stations are there...I was going to tell you but didn't think much of it since they are still available. I wonder if it is a ploy to compete with 910am since it is also on iHeart...hmmm

    ReplyDelete
  8. They did the listening audience a big favor!

    ReplyDelete
  9. They are also on the iheart app. I thought it was for Clear Channel stations only?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Not that I listen any more, but these people are really out to
alienate everyone possable don't they. I hope the station dies a
    more horable death!

    ReplyDelete
  11. That's probably because they are all now a part of iHeart Radio. I just tested all 3 stations on iHeart and they all work fine (technically speaking, at least).

    ReplyDelete
  12. Totally biased report. The stations are still available by semaphore.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I guess if you still listen to radio in 2012 this might be a shame.

    1. I guess if you still read books in XXXX something might still be a shame.

Technology might advance, but there is no reason to consider radio "obsolete".

Or maybe, one day, you'll be "The Obsolete Man". Ask Burgess and Fritz.

    2. Radio IS a dying medium. It probably won't go away but the way we receive news, information, and entertainment(like music) is drastically changing.

      Delete
  14. They are pushing iHeart Radio...owned by Clear Channel...a merger in the future? Check Wiki out.... "Cumulus" means "heap" or "pile" in Latin..... I ask: A pile of WHAT??? Sad to see KGO and KSFO both waning from their glory days not so long ago.....

    ReplyDelete
  15. I might have cared if I hadnt deleted the KFOG app when they screwed up the morning show, acoustic sunrise/sunset and the 10 at 10 Saturday show.

Those Cumulus guys sure know how to continue to alienate their core audience.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Calm down Rich. Cumulus has put all their stations on the Clear Channel app iHeartRadio.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I listen to KGO on a CCrane WiFi Radio and it's still there ..

    ReplyDelete
  18. First off, its called Tune-In not "tuned in"

And it's just a move to push iheart radio to be the dominant service. Nothing sinister or alienating about it. It's just competition at work and it's been in the works a long time

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hey the sky is falling...breaking news.

    ReplyDelete
  20. iHeart Radio sucks since it streams only in USA so I had to go http://radio-locator.com/ then type in the call Letters of the station which brings me to a page which has the audio stream which I can receive anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Big deal. Is it really that hard just to go to KGO and click listen live?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Tim Montemayor is subbing on KGO; struggled to get callers the first 2 hours.

On the Ronn Owens show, he then brought up FACTS that would make Owens gag:

    - That the average American spends $2700 per year to support illegal aliens.

    - That California spends $22 Billion per year for illegal aliens.

I do like that he brought up these two "politically incorrect" facts on 810 AM, aka KGONE.

    1. Montamanure (pile of dung in Spanish) can take his ”facts” and shove them. Illegal immigration is boring radio along the lines of abortion and gun control. EIGHTY EIGHTY EIGHT TEN!!!!

      Delete
  23. AND Those people pick 200,900, billion dollars of food,do the dirty and HARD work for contractors Americans wont do.
Monte is what we call a race traitor. He never goes into his latin roots, does the Anglo pronunciation of his name, and with his bosses being known rightests he feeds of his own heritage like a parasite.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Amen brother! He is another one not proud of his heritage. A disgrace!

      Delete
    2. Ahh, we don't need 20 to 45 million illegal immigrants to pick lettuce. That math doesn't add up.

Ironically, these individuals have hurt the working class, made wages stagnate, and helped drive the African American unemployment rate through the roof!

Those that work construction will takes the jobs, they just won't take them at $10 an hour with no benefits.

Good to hear a fresh voice on KGO.

Yes, the passwords seem to be getitng more difficult.

      Delete
    3. Or, you could see it from the perspective that he's assimilated to this nation's culture, and while he may have pride in his heritage that he manifests in various ways in his private life, he sees the invasion of illegals as detrimental to all in this nation, including those of Hispanic/Central American descent.

      Delete
    4. Anybody who spends any significant time obsessing about their "heritage" is on a train to loserville... I don't give a rat's rear about your heritage or mine for that matter. How you treat people is all I care about... "Race traitor" indeed. What kind of pompous, arrogant, self-absorbed loon came up with that term?

      Delete
    5. ...or he could be a self hating bum scapegoating hard working immigrants. The ones who collapsed the economy have not been charged with a single crime when everyone knows there was massive fraud. I am sick and tired of the ”construction worker” argument. Get used to it Johnson. Wages across the board have been depressed. It is not just construction. Montemanure is just that: a huge pile of dung.

      Delete
    6. Self-hating bum? He just stated a few "uncomfortable" facts that Ron Owens never will.

So who do you think collapsed the economy?

It's complex. Part of it was our greed, buying bigger homes and more flat screen TVs than we needed. Part of it was Harry Reid, Barney Frank, and Bill Clinton - via the federal gov't - *requiring lenders* to loan to people with horrible credit ratings and no down payment, as a way to ensure that everyone could live in their own home. Threats of lawsuits were part of their plan. Liar loans evolved. The Demos and the GOP also did away with Glass-Stegal egulations.

      Delete
    7. Agreed. So why doesn't Montemanure go after those folks in his dumb show? Because it is easier to get the people riled up making up stuff about the immigrant community. It is easier to demonize brown folks than anonymous power players in suits. Montemanure sucks! Agree or disagree. EIGHTY EIGHTY EIGH TEN!!!!!

      Delete
  24. And..could you turn down the difficulty on the password level? I get some that are so faded and jammed together..its guessing. It's gotten worse the last couple of weeks..or is it me?

    1. Agreed. Some of those crazy ass characters look like Latin or some other foreign idiom...

    2. Most of those things .. captchas, I think they're called .. don't require that you are 100% correct with the letters .. as long as you're close, it's OK, kind of like Bob Newhart's style of accounting.

      -TT

      Delete
    3. TT is full of crap.

You need to match the captchas EXACTLY. Every letter... You don't know what you're talking about.

      Delete
    4. No. I agree with TT. If you are close enough it will captcha your comment. I've tested it when an 8 or 3 come up. I purposely enter a 3 when it is an 8 and it works. Layoff TT

  25. This report is wrong. We can still listen on the internet.

    1. This report isn't wrong. KNBR and every other cumulus station isn't on the tunein radio app any longer. It's a shame, it's a better app than Iheartradio. It's got me upset.

      Delete
  26. How could I tell? This is like reporting that they shot the Unicorn or Loch Ness Monster (sorry, Art Bell). Don't listen to those so-called radio stations anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Iheart works 500 times better than the sketchy kgo app anyhow.

    ReplyDelete
  28. There has been no more listening on the Internet for a long time. who cares they are irrelevant.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I listen to iHeartRadio for the 4th Hour of Armstrong & Getty and it constantly drops out, iHateRadio more likely. Fans of Rick Tittle (i.e. A's and Raider fans) can find his Sports Byline show 10-Noon on the TuneIn Radio app.

    1. I had the same dropout problems as 10:39 did, when trying to listen to some recent 10@10 shows on KFOG. Those 10@10 MP3's never dropped out on me, prior to iHeartRadio handling their streaming.

  30. Last week the iPod app for KNBR stopped working for me. Today they published an update. Loaded it to the pod and it works. One of the extras are bobble heads of KNBR personalities. When Dibbly and The Razor left, they up dated the app to remove them. With this update they it has The Razor back.

  31. Brian Copeland is subbing for Ronn Owens right now and I'm listening to the show on my computer via the internet.

The day the 49ers played a pre-seaaon game recently (this past Sunday?) was also the day that I could not listen to Pat Thurston on the 'net. Instead heard on a loop the announcement that the NFL agreement precluded local radio stations from rebroadcasting the game during game time. Okay. Didn't make a difference to me as I tuned in to listen to Pat, not the Niners game. So I was forced to plug in my old radio to listen to her the "old-fashioned" way. lol

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is hardly news. They moved to iHeart Radio BEFORE they stopped streaming via TuneIn. I haven't missed a day of listening online.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Kgone and KSFO are not working on iHeart since 6am today. I missed the Rabbi Daniel Lapin show on KSFO thanks to this mishap

    ReplyDelete
  34. the issue is the iHeart App sucks and tune-in included time shift capability.

There are shows I like that don't podcast and tune-in allows me to listen to the whole show on my schedule.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Did tunein pull other IHeart stations in addition to KGO KNBR and KFOG? I used to listen to a couple of stations in Maryland, mixed 107.3 and big 100.3 and I cannot get these stations anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 4 Bay Area news/talk stations do not work which I have noticed:

    KSFO
    KNBR
    KGO
    KKSF (iHeartRadio)

The only 3 news/talk stations I have found that work:

    KCBS
    KSCO
    KLIV
