NBC Bay Area Story on Buses has Info Malfunction

Uh, a little mix-up down at NBC Bay Area.

The new Investigative Unit did a recent story on buses. Only there was a problem, according to one of my moles inside the San Jose studios.

One of our new investigative journalist interviewed  someone who turned out to be the wrong guy.  He said it was the bus company owner but it wasn't.  It aired with the wrong guy being interviewed as the company owner and this poor guy looked foolish.  Now we look foolish as a station.  Thanks, new investigative unit!

Oh well.

  1. Hey, at least, those promos featuring the Investigative Unit's talent, who no one has ever heard of in this market, are somewhat flashy.

  2. This shoddy journalism should be investigated by the ABC-7 I-Team, or at the very least KRON's "People Behaving Badly."

  3. Welcome home, Tony! Right. Heard the story, too. His arrogance at play.

  5. Many stations has a "call" insert name here guy. We where advertising our company on the local station here in Sac We droped the program to the tune of about $150.000 A year Due to low ratings on this station at the time. About 3 mo after we had a what I would call, A "hatchet" report done on our company from the "call guy" It's funny How that works.

  6. The high grade film promo reminds me of.... "Where's the Beef" from the Wendy's hamburger campaign. All flash and no meat.

Dan Noyes and the ABC 7 I-Team are now weak and NBC smells a kill. That's why the old KGO GM Valari ( who now runs NBC O&O's) spent a giant bag of cash to shoot the promo. Look for KNTV to get another investigative "superstar" and or a bigger staff.

Also, look for KNTV to start a new and improved "consumer" department. Michael Finney is also weak. KGO radio is forcing him to do "regular" newstalk and no longer promoting his time slot. Its not really his fault. He's simply a lightweight and usually has little idea what he's talking about. His days of B-S and "laughing" through radio and television like his 5/12/12 KGO radio interview with the great Rob Reiner are over. He's toast.

  7. Is Tony Kovaleski supposed to be intimidating? He just seems like a self important, overzealous douche to me! Jenna Susko is quite hot, and so is Elyce Kirchner, those two should just do fake stories every night so we can look at them!

  8. If KNTV hopes to ever gain credibility as a news source it should stop pimping for SJ city hall labor unions and pushing the union's fake and sensationalized campaign issues. There is a reason their investigative reports get little traction: they are so transparently biased and, per this report, wildly inaccurate.
