*49ers coach, Jim Harbaugh went verbal commando on his KNBR morning show. Actually, he didn't say much, but when he did, it was funny. Am I smoking something? No. I purposely made a point to listen in knowing Harbaugh's disdain with the mike and pen crowd, but his wise ass, one word answers to Brian Murphy questions was unintentionally funny.
It's well known that Harbaugh beats to his own drummer; what?, did Murph suddenly think that he was about to transform into Rex Ryan? Harbaugh can be Jerry Lewis as long as he wins. He wasn't hired to wax poetically with a local morning zoo. He knows the program and if you're going to fault him, you can rip him wide open for taking the money to talk shit for ten or so minutes.
But, get this.
His final bit with the boys talking about birds and philosophy, (listen to podcast and you'll get this), was pretty humorous and funny. Murph could have used it a bit to get back at the coach, only half of the frat boys sort of figured it out. In any event, it was funny. Imagine that. Stop the presses.
*The 'Love Connection': Damon Bruce returned to 1050 AM Tuesday, (12-3 PM), and seemed genuinely giddy. He should, to a degree. He's in KNBR's Little sisters of the poor, but he's also solo and far better in that format than he was paired with the old guy from Pluto.

Jim really should wear a beret-he's got the eccentric artist thing down pat. Ask him what color id the sky today and he cant tell you..he will even twist it into what kind of question like that has any meaning?..those types.
ReplyDeleteHe has no more warmth for the media then Singletary. Jim's cushion right now is that he's a better coach.
Two years from now if he's not winning and has that same act,the media and internet lynch mobs will be at it full force.
I'm glad Damon is back on KNBR 1050, he's practically invisible there....hahahaha!!!

ReplyDeleteI will never understand why radio stations have to have these coaches and players on weekly. Theer are ways to promote the teams be it the Giants, Niners or Warriors.
Radnich's giddy laughter at telling callers Damon is happy at 1050 drips with sarcasm.

And I swear-as Radnich fell into his "I know I've said this many times before"..today,You could see that pained "And I heard it a hundred times before" look on Kruegers face. It reminded me of an old Twilight Zone episode..Larry's back on radio..and his Karma gives him second banana to Radnich and Bruce.
