  1. Let me get this in... But Kawakami see's nothing wrong with Warrior coach Jackson relationship to a drug dealer?
Yeah, sure Tim...I would never guess my best friend and close business partner was a Drug Kingpin!..lol..The Rolls he drove was,uh, a contest winnings for best muffins!
Kawakami is in Lacob's back pocket with garbage like that. Obviously.

Have a nice day off Rich.

  2. I will do it for you-----Perspective on Hurricane Irene: The storm overlaid on California would stretch from Santa Rosa to San Diego. The storm surge coming through the narrow opening of the Golden Gate would be enhanced by the narrow constriction . Combined with high tides, a wall of water 6 to 10 feet would swamp the Marina, parts of Sausalito along Broadway, the intermodal facility at the Port of Oakland, the runways at Hayward and Oakland A.P. and I-80 and 580 near east end of the Bay Bridge. The estimated 5 to 10" of rain would cascade down the stairs and escalators of BART and Muni, flooding the subway. One could only imagine what the waves, storm surge and high winds would do to the coast from Sonoma County to Malibu. Finally, the infrastructure would take a beating as winds tear down Muni wires, down trees and PG&E power lines blocking roads and transit lines. And that is just the tip of the iceberg............Meteorologist Mike Pechner

  3. ..and That's why Mike the largest tree's in the world grow in California..mild weather all year..NEVER a Tyhoon/Hurricane, never the sustained winds of 100mph, and never the intense thunder and lightening storms to strike and burn the mighty Redwoods along that coast.
As a matter of fact many of California's native and exotic tree's are largest in North America. In Florida and Texas tall tree's are lightning rods. None of those tall Palms like we have here...or they aren't old like ours.
Your nature lesson for the day.

  5. Ted Robinson hosting Comcast at 5?..He's got to wear stronger contacts. His wild eyed look for an hour was disconcerting. Bruce Jenkens was disturbed by it.
And if Ted isnt an Honest Abe impersonator on his day's off-he should be. Just add beard( a Giant fear beard would work) and stovepipe hat. Ted's even got that Abe squeaky voice to match.

This is NOT the correct blog or forum but OMG and OMG what is going on with this Patrick Connor's KNBR show on Saturday morning?
    (1) Can't listen to his voice
    (2) Should not be called the SPORTS SALOON
    (3) He was cajoling about what's COOL about violence at football games.
    (4) Connor's Board operator is called the goon? WTF?

I am sure Greg Suhr was all for that premise on his show.

Lastly Rich, Nobody's talking about this but Marty Luries participation on KNBR has been severly changed, limited or tweaked. Have you noticed that?

  8. Actually, Marty is back doing the weekends by him self (unfortunately he invites 'P-Con' on during his pre games shows, and when I hear that god awful idiot, I immediately turn off the radio.) Lurie must be under orders from that nit-wit Lee Hammer to use him because I can't believe he would show such terrible judgement and allow that clown to muck up what is usually a fine program. I know that Lurie is doing those long programs again, because I heard him one morning before a Giants game, starting at 10am, and then after a weekend afternoon game he was on again until 10pm. That's a little too long! even for Lurie! Thanks god that dweeb Mychel Urban is no longer on the Lurie show. "The Game" showed their true colors by hiring that fat-headed blowhard who adds nothing to the radio. Who is this guy anyway, and what makes him any kind of an expert? Wasn't he some second string internet writer before he managed to con his way onto the radio and into Comcast's studios?
Rich, when you return from your weekend sojourn, I want a complete review from you of the two local sports stations: a grade for each of the hosts on the two stations, your assessment of the two program directors, and whether or not you deem any of this dreck (outside of Lurie) is worth listening to. I'll look forward, as I'm sure many others will for your lambasting of "The Sports Leader" and "the Game."

  9. Marty appeals to the old fashioned brainiac baseball fan.
Patrick Connor appeals to the alcoholic, chainsmoker, and south will rise again crowd. What Lee Hammer see's as an advertisers dream. Drunks and stupid white men.

  10. The only person who likes hearing Marty Lurie, is Marty Lurie! LOL

  11. Marty is great! You don't have to listen to the whole marathon. But when you do want some baseball talk, local talk not ESPN talk about the Red Sox and Yankees, you got a good shot on the weekends with Marty.

He and FP's broadcasts after the playoff games last year really helped this fan soak in the atmosphere and celebration. Other hosts would have checked out after an hour.

  12. Couldn't agree more with 12:10's comment. Marty is the best thing KNBR has had on the weekends since they got kid of Bruce MacGowen. Like Bruce, Marty is actually interested and understands baseball. He doesn't sit in some studio making broad and nonsensical generalizations about the game because he actually goes to the ballpark and talks to the players, managers, scouts and GMs. The rest of KNBR's staff doesn't do any of that, and none of them outside of Eric Brynes knows anything about baseball. They would rather talk about nonsense (i.e. Radich and his 'pop-culture' crap, or the Indiana loudmouth, bloviating about "what's wrong with the Giants!" instead of having a rational discussion about the team. I just wish they would get that abomidable idiot, Patrick Connor, off the air once and for all. Until they do, KNBR will continue to sound bafoonish!
