I have always liked this twenty-year, veteran Bay Area newswoman. Dwyer doesn't play the usual local TV news visual footsie--she commands the screen and is adept at providing just enough fluidity to each story.
There is no cutsie, gee, look at me persona here. Then again, Dwyer doesn't have to play that card. Her performance speaks for itself. She reads the news devoid of any real theatrics. I like that.
I had hoped NBCBA news brass had paired Dwyer with weeknight anchor, Raj Mathai, (they hired ex-KGO tonsil, Janelle Wang instead); then again, Dwyer seems to be comfortable holding court on the weekend.

I can't stand her. Her monotone delivery, artificial banter, her ego like she's the best thing to ever hit anchoring is all quite annoying. File her under "Blah".

She's ok. Yes,she ridden her blond good looks far,as just to hear her is nothing special. She's another who hates to move her lips when she talks.

I turn her off the minute I see her...she seems fake...Ill take Ann Notarangelo anyday over her!

ReplyDeleteDiane is certainly easy on the eyes! Much better to look at than Janelle's Wang! I'd like to see an anchor team of Diane and Gasia, with Kristy Siefkin doing weather......now that would be spanktravision!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rich. Diane is a pro and I've loved watching her over these many years. I think her weekend newscasts are of much higher quality than the weekly ones. She's poised, intelligent and classy...a great combination.
