Media accounts are wrong: "Fans" were Thugs; LA incident

Several, and I do mean, several, news accounts of the tragic happenings last Thursday night in LA regarding a Giants' fan being savagely beaten by a pair of young hooligans refered to the men as Dodgers' "fans." "Fans?" How stupid and pathetic is that?

Try thugs, jackasses, gutless wonders. That's my account. "Fans?" OK, to be pc, how about this:

A Giants' fan was severly beaten by two young men dressed in Dodgers gear. The two men beat
the 42 year-old father of two to the ground and kicked him several times in the head.

Just this morning, the incident, which is now garnering wide attention in the national news, was refered to on ABC Radio network news as "...those two Dodgers 'fans that beat up a SF Giants' fan...." Again, how utterly ridiculous.

And I thought the sports media was the toy department.

  1. He wasn't so much beaten up while others watched as the press makes it sound-they rushed him from behind, pushed him to where he fell and hit his head.I'm not sure why his friends-who outnumbered those two who did the attack-didnt do more to defend him. They sure didnt put up much of a fight.
But what I hate(besides the attackers)-is the all the buck passing. No security at a stadium where fights are common,no security camera's,and how could they just wander away from the LA PD in the day of 911 and cell phones? And I even get angry at his wimpy friends.

LOS ANGELES DODGERS PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 4, 2011

The Los Angeles Dodgers are pleased to announce that our sole legal owner, Mr. Frank McCourt, cares deeply about the grievous injuries suffered by Jeffrey Stow while Mr. Stow was attending a game at Dodger Stadium.

“These little kerfuffles in the parking lot aren’t pretty, I’ll give you that,” declared Mr. McCourt, with a lump in his throat and deep feeling in his voice. “But when you consider the kind of value we offer our fans, an occasional violent beating is a pretty small price to pay for all the benefits.”

Dodger Stadium, America’s best ballpark, is located at scenic Chavez Ravine near beautiful downtown Los Angeles. Most Dodger home games feature the warm, sunny climate that Southern California is famous for. The stadium is accessible from several nearby freeways, thus ensuring that fans enjoy our beloved Southland traffic no matter which route they choose.

Several different gourmet menu options are available for fans at Dodger Stadium. Concessions feature plump, juicy Dodger Dogs, which are made with 100% real beef filler.

Visits to Dodger Stadium are a safe, fun, and healthy activity for the whole family! Check our website at Dodgers.com for ticket prices and availability.

Mr. McCourt, the sole and exclusive legal owner of the Dodgers, also announced that he intends to visit Mr. Stow in the hospital as soon as his exhausting schedule permits. A target date has not been set.

Great seats are still available for most games at beautiful Dodger Stadium! Check out Dodgers.com for more information.

  5. Rich or anyone PLEASE HELP, just listened to KNBR -Tolbert and you know who was on air.

They went to break and then: Ralph came back on the air with his supposed ad-lib Amici's verbal promo. What am I missing here? Not only is his delivery of the add bad, but he drags in on and on and on and on talking about some people he knows from NY who told him that Amici's is the best...WTF?

Can't Barbieri read his adds off cue cards like others?

I'm on the edge of my window sill....

  6. its because the attackers were hispanics(possible illegal aliens???) and the leftist media(and the big business/no borders crowd) doesn't want white america getting angry and finally putting an end to illegal immigration and throwing out the invading thugs.

  8. 4:44 went straight to the Fox news crowd mindset. Nevermind that Latino's in LA are both the mayor and majority...so of course the haters are surprised when they save lives as fireman or create a crime. Its like hating white people because in Switzerland they are the majority of criminals.Or,in North Dakota.

  9. 8:03 - i don't think you get it - has nothing to do with % of local population where the incident happened, whenever illegals commit horrble crimes no matter its Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Oregon, Washington, etc, the leftist MEDIA in this country attempt to hide the race and or the legal status of the criminal because they don't want the invasion to end...doesn't matter where the crime takes place because news today is national ie if something happens in Portland, OR its not just Oregonians who're gonna find out about it...so try again clown...this appears to be a racist attack and possible hate crime, so people want to know, are they illegal aliens? have they already snuck back across the border??

do you get it 8:03?? these are questions the leftist collaborators in the media won't ask...

  11. It's the ridiculous fan frenzy that "our team is best" that motivates, yes, these thugs to violence. The fact that the violence was directed, reportedly at Giants fans by Dodger fans AT a baseball park make the headlines you critize quite on the money.
