Arrested ESPN Writer Bryant had Bay Area Media Connections; SJ Merc/OakTrib scribe appeared on KNBR
Howard Bryant, the senior baseball writer for ESPN, who was arrested on Saturday in Massachusetts on charges of domestic assault and resisting arrest, has a Bay Area connection.
The 42 year-old Bryant has worked at both the San Jose Merc and Oakland Tribune and was also a frequent guest on the KNBR "Murph and Mac" show.
Five witnesses claimed they saw a man choking and pushing a woman into a car in a Boston suburb, authorities report.
Bryant was released on $5,000 bail. ESPN has not commented thus far.
