Amaury Pi-Gonzalez is the 'Cuban Don Rickles'

APGwithgoatee.jpg
Amaury Pi-Gonzalez is the Cuban version of "Mr. Baseball" in the Bay Area; He was inducted into the Cuban Sports Hall of Fame and into the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum in 2004, and more recently in the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame.

Amaury is a good guy.

He's broadcast Major-League Baseball for the A's, Giants, and NBA basketball for the Golden State Warriors, (I know I'm leaving some team out, but you get the point.)

Here's something you don't know: Amaury is really the Cuban Don Rickles.

I know this because every time I schmooze and sit with APG he laughs at my jokes and I laugh at his. It's a NY/Vegas/Miami kinda-thing--Larry King would be proud and Sinatra would have left the bottle with this legend.

Amaury is a little lean on gigs lately, but in reality, I see Hollywood callin'--this guy's greatness is only beginning.

"So, Amaury...Sinatra walks in to the Mirage and Rickles asks, 'Who are you?"

  1. It's a shame the A's just let Gonzalez go.

Do the A's do anything right anymore? John Fisher is embarrassing the family name.
