NBC Bay Area just announced that Raj Mathai will move over to the news anchor desk and co-host the 6 and 11 PM news with Jessica Aguirre.
We broke the news here, exclusively, last week.
No word on the status of Tom Sinkovitz and who will now anchor sports. With Comcast' takeover deal of NBC delayed, the idea of outsourcing sports content may be now off the books, temporarily.
Mathai will remain the anchor of his popular Sports Sunday broadcasts following Sunday Night Football and will remain part of the Giants broadcast team when the team take the field in 2011.

ReplyDeleteInteresting that in the media today Henry Schulman who had ripped Edgar Rentaria for the one million dollar insult,reports that Kruk and Kuip-who Rich has reported as also asking for one million from the Giants- are close to signing. Funny,that Henry Schulman doesn't say what the amount was or even that the agent had asked for one million each per year as Rich has said. Henry doesn't even say what the amount was that was too low for them to sign and why they have held out. It must have been insulting. Loyalty aint cheap..but that reporters double standard is.

Wouldn't Tom Sinkovitz be great on KTVU chanel 2 broadcast at 10:00pm??? Hmmmmmmm.....
ReplyDeletePuh-leese. Sinkovitz has a face for radio. TV wants pretty people. Lips Aguirre will be next to go as soon as they can find a hot 20 year younger latina. Just watch and see.
ReplyDeletePrior to all the shakeup, Sinkovitz officially was anchoring the 5 with Kim and the 6 with Aguirre.
ReplyDeleteAlso remember that he initially was hired as a Political Reporter and took on anchor duties shortly after Allen Denton was let go in 2007.
Raj- another affirmative action hire. Perfect for this area.
