Radnich/Bruno on Comcast; '7Live; This and that; Tuesday rundown

**"The "Sunday Night Rap", a one-hour hodgepodge of sports, news, entertainment and current events will debut on Comcast SportsNet California, Sept. 12 at 9 PM and will feature Gary Radnich and Tony Bruno. The show will essentially mirror Bruno and Radnich' radio bit on KNBR; whether it has the cachet to dent the end of the NBC Bay Area Sunday night game and postgame remains to be seen.

**"7Live" with Brian Copeland debuts on ABC7/KGO-TV this Monday, Sept. 13 at 3 PM.

**"East Bay Express" is chock full of medicinal marijuana ads to the point where can the weekly be trusted to run objective stories on the business of medicinal marijuana? I think its fair to ask.

**It is certainly the right for a news director and PR rep to lie and mislead to protect the interests of its TV station, but the ethics of said action speak volumes about the operation.

**Class dept. 1A: Ted Robinson, Mark Ibanez, Rita Williams, Dana King, Ken Wayne, Frank Somerville, Ronn Owens, Ben Fong-Torres, Bob Gowa, Alan Colmes, Phil Hendrie, Raj Mathei, Ted Griggs.

**A certain on-air sports tonsil has once again been told to check his ego at the door of a certain media gulch restaurant.

**More than meets the eye: Jed York.

**Underrated: KCBS' Tim Ryan and John Evans.

**Best radio sports anchor in the morning: KGO's Rich Walcoff, who can write the tightest, freshest two minutes in town.

**Best consumer reporter radio and TV, hands down: Michael Finney. Informed, entertaining, and listeners love him--I now know why.

**Get her a better time slot: KGO's Pat Thurston

**Best political and presidential radio host: KGO's John Rothmann, only occasionally I'd love for Rothmann to "chill it" with some lighter stuff every once and a while.

**The gruesome twosome: Dennis O'Donnell and Kim Coyle

**Pompous, smarmy, arrogant and a doofus all in one: KRON GM, Brian Greif. Goog grief!

**A bloodbath of epic proportions will be coming to a certain outlet any day now, so be sure to stock the shelves of some good old grand dad, ya hear now?

  1. That list leaves out alot of people I thought seemed real like,Cheryl Jennings or Ken Batista, for two examples.
Comcast and Radnich are getting over the top in the hours he takes up. I thought he ruined the 49er post game show, and the Giant post and pregame sort of exposed his poor baseball feel. How much more often could FP or Aurillia,or Bip Roberts disagree with him?
Radnich is like a one man wall that prevents any new talent getting started. Because he might bring 2 more rating points, weeny GM's at Comcast go "safe".

  2. Why Radnich stays at KRON is beyond me... he could do anything he wanted at Comcast.

But the Bruno/Radnich show has run its course; it can be almost unlistenable at times now. I'd rather listen to Woodson and Bruno; Ray and Tony seems to be a better fit, to the point that Gary sounds like the third man in a two party conversation.

But Rich brought up a good point a while back; Gary has cultivated his audience and it's this audience, who will swallow anything, that is the target for the show.

  3. Attended a dress rehearsal for 7Live, entertaining witty and smart. Liz Bermudez (culture) and Jan Jolley (tech) are good foils for Brian Copeland. His ability to ad lib is well honed after years of live appearances on stage. They all seem comfortable, despite the newness of things and will bring an entertaining and informative show to the 3PM hour. Now if only it survives that time slot.

Live tweets and FB responses and issues of the day as you would expect from Brian's radio show. Live audience participation in question of the day (the Voicebox segment). One more thing brief in studio interview segment.

  4. Some corporate female hack PR type came on the end of 9-12 to say Radnich gets a 97% approval rating from fans!. lol,Why not say 100%? If your going to blow smoke, do it right.
He is entertaining, but those right wing pronouncements he makes, and that big business can't get enough of him either giving him 5 shows on Comcast or hiring him to do banquets is not healthy for local sports boadcasting.Or,maybe he just proves that sucking up to the rich and powerful pays off.

  5. hahahahahhahahah, gruesome twosome! I couldn't agree more. Coyle is the most unattractive woman on local TV.

  6. O'Donnell and Radnich should get a room together they admire each other so much. And if they are that tight it just shows O'Donnell like Radnich, pretty much is against everything the city of San Francisco stands for.

  7. Kim Coyle? Is she the woman with blond hair and bushy, black eyebrows?

  8. There is way too much Radnich. I finally stopped listening to his morning show because it is so childish with all those recorded remarks played over and over again.
