'Sleeptrain' and Bay Area media; my new look; Massa and Beck; Wednesday media pulse

So, do you like the new look? We cover all ground and with the number of media mavens reading this, from all areas of the SF media jungle, we decided to change the look; keep those tips coming; I'm grateful, but be patient. My staff of one has only so much time...

**Sleeptrain, the Sacramento mattress company that seemingly has taken over the Bay Area airwaves has several high-profile spokespeeps; among the throng: Ronn Owens of KGO, Jan Wahl of KCBS, and Tom Tolbert of KNBR.

Look, everyone has a right to earn a buck, (and a free mattress) but is there not something unseemly and quite frankly, tacky, about being so, so immersed in mattress mafia? OK, at least they get a 'better night' sleep.

**Just seven minutes into Glenn Beck's hour-long interview of Eric Massa on Tuesday evening, things had already gone very wrong.Uh, no kidding, you think? The first sentence of Dana Milbank of the Washington Post, who managed to be a part of the Eric Massa circus that took place on Tuesday.

The kookie NY congressman appeared on Beck, Larry King, and was front and center on the national news cycle. It was, well, weird. Mildly amusing, and perfectly indicative of the times in which we live. Tickle that!
