He founded the Amer-I-Can Program for Social Change, reaching out to young men with the message that there is life and there is hope.

  1. "Mentor to our youth"? "Civic Leader"?
Honor him as perhaps the greatest football player of all time. But his history of violence towards women disqualifies him as a 'mentor to our youth' and 'civic leader.'

I don't care if it's a "Rich Lieberman Presents" production or not. This is wrong. He is a bad dude, and I don't mean bad as a compliment.

  2. DD: What you are refering to happened over thirty years ago; which is not to say one condones it. I don't, but if you're going there, there are many others to go after...And this is about a charity, "Amer-I-can", which is the recipient and a great charity that Mr. Brown has championed. I'm biased here and I freely admit it.

  3. Sorry, Rich, you are wrong. He has been arrested at least 5 times that I can track in 60 seconds of web-surfing, and as recently as 2002 he was in jail for vandalizing his then-wife's car, after being arrested for making threats against her.

He has a history over 35 years of beating up women, attempting to force them to have sex, and threatening them with physical harm.

I wonder how much of Amer-I-Can's donations end up supporting Jim Brown? It's not like there's a huge demand for him as an actor or broadcaster.

  4. DodgerDog can bite my weiner. What a complete ass.

Jim Brown is a longtime hero as an athlete and as a human being. His issues with the law are ancient, and to raise them on this page is inappropriate and mean spirited.
