GG bridge officials approves 'suicide net; Friday pm pulse

If you've dreamed of killing yourself by jumping off the Golden Gate bridge, you may want to get with it. Suicide nets have been approved.

According to KCBS, the erection of a suicide net took one step closer to a reality Friday. The final EIR report is done and the net appears to have come to fruition.

Bridge District spokeswoman Mary Currie said the net was the chosen solution.

"The vertical steel struts that will stick out horizontally to hold the net, they will still be in international orange. But, the net itself will remain stainless steel,” she said.
