Former Oakland Raiders player reports $312,000 worth of jewelry stolen
Former Oakland Raiders wide receiver Jerry Porter told Alameda police that he was robbed of over $312,000 in jewelry at an Oakland facial salon.
Porter, who signed a huge free-agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2008, lives in Alameda. Porter reported the theft last week, telling an Alameda patrol officer that he discovered the jewelry missing from his black 2007 BMW M6 on Dec. 17. He was set to meet with Oakland Police today, but cancelled at the last minute.
His car did not show any evidence of a break-in, police said.
Porter told police that he did not immediately report the theft because he had been busy and because he had recently shipped the BMW to Florida, where he's planning to move.

"he did not immediately report the theft because he had been busy." I wish I knew how to be so busy that you put off reporting such a huge theft.
ReplyDeletebling in the brain, kev?
ReplyDeletewait... let me do the math here... he DID NOT REPORT these items - valued at 8X the average salary of secondary teacher in Alameda - because he was busy? Am I missing something here...?
